Nova MFI Scalper on Gold — 61% Winrate, Sharpe 2.31, and Almost Any Setting Was Profitable | $199 Today

XAUUSD  ·  1H  ·  61.73% Winrate  ·  Sharpe 2.31  ·  2021-2025  ·  $199 Now — Price Rises Every Sale

Nova MFI Scalper is $199 today. The price increases by $10 with every sale.

Early adopters always get the best price. The longer you wait, the more it costs.

Most backtests tell you one thing: these exact settings worked on this exact data.

That's a red flag, not a feature. It means the moment you touch a parameter, the edge disappears.

This one is different. When I ran the optimization on XAUUSD 1H, almost every combination of buy and sell triggers came back profitable. Different MFI periods, different thresholds — still profitable. That kind of robustness across the parameter space is what separates a real edge from a curve-fitted illusion.

Here are the results, the logic behind them, and everything you need to evaluate this yourself.

The Numbers

Backtest period: 2021-2025  |  Account: $1,000,000 simulated  |  Leverage: 1:100  |  Risk: 2% fixed per trade

Metric Result Note
Net Profit $2,086,820 On $1M simulated account
Win Rate 61.73% 121 profitable trades out of 196
Profit Factor 1.27 Positive across full 5-year window
Sharpe Ratio 2.31 Strong risk-adjusted return
Recovery Factor 2.77 Recovered well after drawdown periods
Max Drawdown 23.39% On Gold at 2% risk — expected range
Total Trades 196 ~39/year — selective, not reactive
Test Period 2021-2025 5 years covering all market conditions

The drawdown is real and worth mentioning honestly — 23.39% at 2% risk on Gold over five volatile years is within expected range for this instrument. If you want to tighten it, drop the risk per trade. The structure holds either way.

The Sharpe ratio of 2.31 is the number worth paying attention to. It measures return relative to risk taken. Above 2.0 is considered strong by most quantitative standards. This result achieves that across five years of Gold, which included trend runs, sharp reversals, and high-volatility news events.

How the Strategy Works

Nova MFI Scalper is built around the Money Flow Index (MFI) — an indicator that combines both price movement and volume into a single momentum reading. Where most indicators only track price, MFI asks whether real participation is behind a move.

The entry logic is straightforward:

  • Buy signal: MFI on the last closed candle is above the buy threshold, and the candle before it was below it
  • Sell signal: MFI on the last closed candle is below the sell threshold, and the candle before it was above it

Signals trigger only on confirmed closed candles — no repainting, no mid-candle noise. The system waits for the market to commit before it does.

Why the Robustness Matters More Than the Settings

During optimization, nearly every buy/sell trigger combination came back profitable. Different MFI periods too.

That means you can adjust the triggers to control how often the EA trades.
More aggressive triggers give more signals, conservative ones give fewer, it stays profitable either way.
The edge is in the logic, not the specific numbers.

This is the opposite of curve fitting. A curve-fitted system needs its exact parameters to survive. This one gives you room to adapt it to your own risk preference and trading frequency without breaking the underlying edge.

Raise the buy trigger for fewer, higher-conviction longs. Lower the sell trigger for the same on the short side. The structure holds.
