[Action Required]: Manual EA Pause Recommended

Hello Boring Pips EA users,

Earlier this week, I received several reports of slippage when AUDNZD positions were being closed shortly after the market opened at the beginning of the week. In some cases, this caused positions to close before reaching TP and resulted in a small loss of around 1%.

Although the EA includes a maximum slippage setting, this protection is not effective on most accounts and instruments that use Market Execution instead of Instant Execution.

I am currently working on an update to improve the closing mechanism and provide better protection against this type of unnecessary loss. Version 5.0 will also include several user-requested improvements related to opening and closing positions.

Version 5.0 is expected to be available for download next week. I am doing my best to make the update as complete and reliable as possible before releasing it.

In the meantime, as a temporary precaution, I recommend pausing Boring Pips EA for about 1 hour around the Monday market open.

The purpose is to prevent the EA from opening or closing positions during the low-liquidity period at the beginning of the trading week, when spreads may widen significantly and slippage risk is higher.

You can do this in one of two ways:

1. If Boring Pips EA is the only EA running on your current account:

Before the market opens on Monday, turn off:

MT4: "Auto Trading"

MT5: "Algo Trading"

Turn it back on approximately 1 hour after the market has opened.

2. If Boring Pips EA is running together with other EAs on the same terminal:

Do not turn off "Auto Trading" or "Algo Trading", because this would also stop the other EAs.

Instead, keep these options enabled and open the settings of Boring Pips EA. Temporarily disable:

MT4: "Allow live trading"

MT5: "Allow algo trading"

Enable it again approximately 1 hour after the market has opened.

This allows Boring Pips EA to temporarily stop opening and closing positions during the period of low liquidity, wider spreads, and higher slippage around the Monday market open, without affecting other EAs running on the same terminal.

This is only a temporary action. Once version 5.0 is released, these manual steps should no longer be necessary.

If you need any support, please feel free to contact me.

I apologize for any inconvenience this issue may cause during this period.

Best regards,

Andy
