MTF Trend – A simple trend direction indicator across 3 timeframes.
You open a chart and are not sure whether the market direction is aligned across different timeframes.
MTF Trend shows it instantly — 3 arrows, 3 timeframes, one answer: are you trading with the trend or against it?
Trend direction at a glance
A compact dashboard appears on the chart. Each arrow shows the trend direction on its corresponding timeframe.
Trend direction is determined using market structure:
- HH + HL → uptrend
- LH + LL → downtrend
The indicator analyzes the sequence of price highs and lows and uses that information to determine the current market direction.
With a quick look at the panel, you immediately know:
- whether market direction is aligned across different timeframes;
- whether it makes sense to enter now or wait for a better setup;
- or whether it's better to stay out if higher timeframes point in different directions.
Don't trade against the higher timeframe
One of the most common trading mistakes is entering against the higher timeframe trend. MTF Trend helps you spot these situations before opening a position.
You get a simple visual filter:
- if the arrows point in the same direction → market direction is aligned;
- if the arrows disagree → entry risk increases.
Instead of constantly switching between timeframes, you get all the information you need in one compact dashboard.
Minimal settings, maximum value
The indicator is not overloaded with parameters and does not require lengthy setup.
You can:
- choose any 3 timeframes that fit your trading approach;
- move the dashboard anywhere on the chart;
- adjust trend change sensitivity using the The rate of trend change parameter.
When a single chart is no longer enough
MTF Trend is perfect for analyzing a single instrument. But if you monitor multiple markets, constantly switching between charts starts taking more and more time.
In that case, take a look at Trend Monitor VZ.
The advanced version allows you to:
- monitor multiple instruments simultaneously;
- see trend direction across all major timeframes;
- get a broader market view at a glance.
MTF Trend is not a complex algorithm and it is not a signal generator.
It is a simple tool designed to help answer one of the most important trading questions:
Am I trading with the trend or against it?
Install the indicator and see how it fits into your market analysis workflow.
