Ichimoku Nexus Pro

Ichimoku Nexus Pro

Ichimoku Kinko Hyo with all three of Goichi Hosoda's theories on one chart: the five lines, the wave theory (I, V, N, P, Y and W waves), the price theory (the N, V, E and NT targets) and the time theory (the kihon suchi and taito suchi time counts).

It adds a higher-timeframe cloud that does not repaint, a measured Chikou Span, a range guard that holds back the cross signals while the Kijun is flat, the Kumo is thin or price is inside it, and a scanner that reads every pair in Market Watch and sorts them by reliability.

Most Ichimoku tools draw the five lines and add a panel and an alert. The five lines are only the first part of Ichimoku. Hosoda built the system on three theories: the shape of the move, how far it should go, and when it is due to change. Ichimoku Nexus Pro draws all three.

The five lines

Tenkan-sen, Kijun-sen, the Kumo (Senkou Span A and B) and the Chikou Span are calculated inside the indicator. The Strategy Tester shows the same values as the live chart, with no gaps and no empty values.

Period presets:

  • Traditional 9 / 26 / 52 / 26
  • Crypto 20 / 60 / 120 / 30
  • Doubled 18 / 52 / 104 / 26
  • Auto: Crypto on crypto symbols, Traditional on everything else
  • Custom: your own periods

Optional:

  • Bar colouring by the Kumo, by Tenkan and Kijun, or by the Chikou Span
  • Flat Kijun levels marked on the chart as support and resistance

Wave theory

The indicator finds the turns of the market, a high or a low that stands above or below the bars on both sides, and connects the recent ones with dotted lines. Each line shows its length in bars and in per cent when you hover over it.

The shape of the newest legs is written on the last turn:

  • I wave: a single move
  • V wave: a move and a full return
  • N wave: a move and a partial pullback, with the third leg starting from there. This is the wave the price targets are measured from
  • P wave: each leg smaller than the one before, a contracting market
  • Y wave: each leg larger than the one before, an expanding market
  • W wave: two highs or two lows at the same level, a double top or double bottom

A turn is confirmed only after enough bars have closed on its other side (the Tenkan period by default). Once a turn is on the chart it does not move. The newest turn therefore appears a few bars after it happened.

Price theory: the N, V, E and NT targets

From the running N wave, with A its start, B the end of the first leg and C the end of the pullback:

  • N target = C + (B - A): the first leg, measured again from C
  • V target = B + (B - C): the pullback, added again beyond B
  • E target = B + (B - A): the first leg, added on top of B
  • NT target = C + (C - A): the distance from A to C, measured again from C

All four are drawn as lines with their price and the distance from the current price in per cent. A target that price has already reached is drawn dimmed. When the pullback has gone past the start of the move, there is no N wave to measure from, and the panel says so instead of drawing targets.

Time theory: kihon suchi and taito suchi

Hosoda's basic time numbers are 9, 17, 26, 33, 42, 51, 65, 76, 129, 172, 200 and 257. They mark the bars at which a move is due to change its character: to turn, to accelerate or to stop. They do not tell the direction.

The indicator counts them from the last turn, from the last two turns, or from the start of the running N wave (your choice), and draws a vertical line with its number on each of those bars. Lines still ahead of price are dashed, those already passed are dotted.

The taito suchi (equal time spans) are drawn as well: the length in bars of the last leg and of the leg before it, measured forward from the last turn. A market that moves in its own rhythm often turns on these bars rather than on the fixed numbers.

The panel shows the next time number and how many bars away it is. An optional alert fires on the bar itself. The alert says a change is due and nothing about direction, because that is all a time number means.

A higher-timeframe cloud that does not repaint

The Kumo of H1, H4, D1, W1, MN1 or the next higher timeframe (Auto) can be drawn on the chart.

Each bar is given the cloud of the last higher-timeframe bar that had already closed when that bar opened, never the higher bar still forming. What you see over any past candle is exactly what a trader could see at that moment, and it does not change afterwards. The displacement is applied in the higher timeframe's own bars, the way the cloud stands on the higher chart.

The Chikou Span, measured

"Chikou above the price 26 bars ago" is only half the question. The Chikou Span lands inside the candles and inside the cloud of that time, and a clear signal needs it free of both.

The panel shows:

  • Free above or free below, with the clearance in per cent of price
  • In the candles or in the Kumo, with how deep inside it is

A Chikou Span 0.02% above a high is not free of anything, and the panel shows that number.

The range guard

Ichimoku works in trends and gives poor signals in ranges. The range guard watches for the three conditions in which that happens:

  • A flat Kijun-sen: unchanged for a number of bars (5 by default)
  • A thin Kumo: narrower than a set percentage of price (0.15% by default)
  • Price inside the Kumo

While any of them holds, the Tenkan / Kijun cross and the Kijun bounce are not given, and the panel shows "Range - no entries" with the reason. Each condition can be adjusted, and the whole guard can be switched off.

Signals and alerts

Signals are shown on the panel and delivered as alerts. No arrows are drawn on the chart:

  • Tenkan / Kijun cross
  • Kumo breakout
  • Kijun bounce
  • Perfect order (Sanyaku): all seven Ichimoku conditions agree
  • Kumo twist

Two filters, both on by default:

  • A Tenkan / Kijun cross or a Kijun bounce counts only on the correct side of the Kumo. A cross inside the cloud is ignored
  • A cross, a Kumo breakout or a Kijun bounce counts only with the Chikou Span free: above for a buy, below for a sell

Alerts: popup, sound, push notification and email, each switchable, with a minimum number of bars between two signals.

The panel

  • Trend score from -7 to +7 and the trend bias
  • Tenkan / Kijun, price against the cloud, the future cloud
  • The Chikou Span with its measured clearance
  • Distance to Tenkan and Kijun and the width of the cloud, in per cent of price
  • The range guard and its reason
  • The running wave and its N, V, E and NT targets
  • The next time number and how many bars away it is
  • The current signal

The panel is exactly as wide as its text.

The scanner

Under the panel, as one block with it, the scanner reads every pair in Market Watch (or your own list) on the chart's timeframe, the same way the panel reads the chart, and sorts them by reliability, from 0 to 100. Reliability is how many of the things the panel checks agree:

  • Up to 50: the trend score, out of 7
  • 20: the Chikou Span is free on the side of the trend
  • 15: the range guard is clear
  • Up to 15: price is outside the Kumo on that side, in full when the cloud is 0.5% of price wide

A pair held by the range guard never scores above 40, because the panel gives no entries there. A score of 0 is 0.

Each row shows the pair, the reliability, the trend score, buy or sell, the Chikou clearance in per cent and the range guard with its reason. Strong rows are bright green or red, medium rows pale, weak rows grey, and the chart's own pair is marked.

  • Click a row to open that pair on the chart
  • Click the title to fold the scanner and unfold it again
  • Pairs whose history is still downloading are counted and read again a few seconds later
  • The whole list is read again every 60 seconds by default

Reliability describes how clean the Ichimoku picture is on each pair. It is not a measured win rate.

Requirements

  • MetaTrader 5, any broker, any symbol, any timeframe
  • For the higher-timeframe cloud: the history of that timeframe, which the terminal downloads on its own
  • For the scanner: the pairs you want to scan in Market Watch; the terminal downloads their history on its own
  • No additional indicators, libraries or DLLs
  • Light on CPU: the turns, waves, targets and time lines are rebuilt once per new bar, not on every tick, and the scanner reads the pairs once a minute

In the Strategy Tester

In visual mode the lines, the waves, the targets and the time counts move forward bar by bar, just as on a live chart. Start the test far enough back for the indicator to have history before the start date: at least the Senkou B period plus the displacement (78 bars with the traditional settings), more for the higher-timeframe cloud. The scanner is made for the live chart, where the whole Market Watch is at hand.
