I do not develop indicators to follow the market. I develop algorithms to understand it.

The LCD Laguerre Convergence Divergence is a momentum oscillator based on the logic of the classic MACD. It includes a fast line, a signal line, and a histogram, but replaces exponential moving averages with four-pole Laguerre filters and expresses its values in ATR multiples. This provides a comparable scale across different assets, including Forex, gold, and indices.
Its main advantage is its ability to adapt to volatility. The gamma parameter controls filter responsiveness: lower values react faster to price movements, while higher values provide greater smoothing. Gamma adjusts according to the relationship between the current ATR and its average, increasing responsiveness when volatility rises and reducing it when the market is quieter.
The indicator includes a decision zone to identify low-momentum movements and help prevent minor fluctuations from being interpreted as meaningful signals. The histogram shows how momentum evolves: expansion indicates increasing momentum, while contraction suggests a potential loss of strength.
Volume confirmation is optional and distinguishes bars supported by sufficient volume from those lacking confirmation. This filter does not modify price or momentum calculations.
Interpretation follows the principles of the MACD: crosses between the fast and signal lines help identify momentum shifts, zero-line crosses indicate potential changes in direction, and divergences between price and the oscillator may warn of a weakening trend.
Overall, the LCD combines adaptive Laguerre filters, ATR normalization, and tools for evaluating momentum and reducing visual noise. It can be used across different timeframes as a technical analysis aid, but it is not, by itself, a complete entry or exit strategy.
