Installing Trade Assistant Risk Calculator (Demo) in MetaTrader 5

A short guide for end users: install the pre-built Expert Advisor file, attach it to a chart, and know how the Demo build differs from the full product.

Before you start

The Demo is intended for demo accounts only. It will not load on a live (real) account. The Demo run is time-limited to 30 days from the first successful run on this MetaTrader terminal (same PC installation). For live trading without Demo restrictions, buy the full product on MQL5 Market (see below).

What you download

You receive a single ready-to-run file:

  • Trade_Assistant_Risk_Calculator_Demo.ex5 — the compiled Expert Advisor. You do not need MetaEditor or any source code.

Installation steps

  1. Open the terminal data folder. In MT5: File → Open Data Folder. Explorer or Finder opens at your terminal’s data root.

  2. Copy the EA file into Experts. Open MQL5/Experts/ and copy Trade_Assistant_Risk_Calculator_Demo.ex5 into that folder. You may place it directly in Experts or inside a subfolder under Experts—both work.

  3. Refresh the Navigator. In MT5, right-click Expert Advisors in the Navigator and choose Refresh if the EA does not appear automatically. You should see Trade_Assistant_Risk_Calculator_Demo .

  4. Enable algorithmic trading. Tools → Options → Expert Advisors: enable Allow algorithmic trading. You normally do not need Allow DLL imports for this product. On the chart toolbar, ensure Algo Trading is turned on.

  5. Attach to a chart. Drag the Demo EA from the Navigator onto any chart, or right-click → Attach to a chart. Review Inputs, then click OK.

Tip: The first time you attach the EA, the properties dialog shows DEMO BUILD lines at the top of the description. On the chart, the floating panel header shows a prominent DEMO badge on the right—easy to tell apart from the full product.

Troubleshooting

  • EA missing in Navigator: Confirm Trade_Assistant_Risk_Calculator_Demo.ex5 is under MQL5/Experts/ (or a subfolder); right-click Expert Advisors → Refresh; restart the terminal if needed.
  • No smiley icon after attach: Check global Algo Trading and the chart’s Algo Trading button; confirm you are not on a live account (the Demo refuses real accounts).
  • “Expired” message: The 30-day Demo window on this terminal has ended. Purchase the full version at https://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/168093.
