We just rolled out a new version of Burning Grid — with improvements that give you greater flexibility, more transparency, and much faster backtests.
Here’s what’s new:
⚖️ 1. Choose Between Balance or Equity for Drawdown Protection
You now have the option to define how the maximum allowed drawdown is calculated — based on either:

Account Balance (default)
-
Account Equity
✅ Example: If you want the EA to consider floating losses in your DD check, use equity.
🔒 For conservative setups that ignore unrealized PnL, stick with balance.
🎯 2. Risk Calculation: Balance or Equity – You Decide
The risk value (%Risk setting) used for calculating lot size can now also be based on:

Balance
-
Equity
This gives you more precise control — especially in volatile conditions or when running recovery strategies.
⚠️ Reminder: The minimum lot size rule still applies — calculated risk that falls below broker limits will be adjusted upward accordingly.
📰 3. Event Filter Toggle – Now Optional
The integrated economic event filter is enabled by default and helps avoid risky periods like:

NFP releases
-
Low-volume Fridays
-
Other predefined high-impact events
But for advanced users or special testing cases, you can now disable this filter via a simple toggle in the settings.
❗ Use this feature with caution – disabling the event filter is not recommended for live trading!
🛠️ 4. Improved Wording in the Configuration Menu
Several configuration parameters have been renamed or clarified to better reflect their actual function and reduce setup confusion.
This makes the interface even more intuitive — especially for new users.
⚡ 5. Auto Mode – Massive Backtest Speed Boost
Backtests in Auto Mode used to be extremely slow. This has now been optimized so that:

Auto Mode runs almost as fast as Regular or Small Account mode

You can now test strategies much faster using 1-Minute OHLC mode
