Description
MTF Session Opening Range Matrix is a multi-timeframe trading indicator designed to map institutional session structure across the Forex market with precision and clarity.
It identifies and plots the opening range of the major trading sessions, including Asian, London, and New York sessions, using the first five-minute candle after each session begins. The resulting range is extended across the trading day and analyzed on multiple timeframes to provide a structured view of market behavior.
Key Features
Multi Session Analysis
The indicator tracks three major trading sessions:
-
Asian Session
-
London Session
-
New York Session
Each session is calculated independently and displayed separately for clarity and structure.
Multi Timeframe Structure
The opening range can be projected across multiple timeframes:
-
M5 for execution-level structure
-
M15 for intraday structure
-
M30 for short-term bias
-
H1 for trend confirmation
-
H4 for higher timeframe direction
This allows traders to view confluence across different market perspectives.
Opening Range Logic
For each session, the indicator:
-
Identifies the first completed five-minute candle after session open
-
Extracts the high, low, and midpoint
-
Projects these levels forward for the entire trading day
This creates a structured reference zone for price behavior during each session.
Custom Timeframe Selection
Users can enable or disable specific timeframes according to their trading style. This allows full flexibility for scalping, intraday trading, or swing trading approaches.
Visual Structure
The indicator provides a clean and organized chart layout with session-based structure levels. All levels are automatically updated daily and do not repaint.
Trading Application
This indicator can be used to:
-
Identify session-based market structure
-
Detect early institutional bias
-
Align entries with multi-timeframe confluence
-
Track breakout and reversal behavior around session opens
-
Improve timing for trade execution
Notes
The indicator is designed for Forex and CFD markets and performs best on highly liquid instruments such as major currency pairs and gold.
Correct broker time alignment is required for accurate session detection.
