An advanced trend detection system that automatically identifies and draws high-quality trend lines based on wave analysis and fractal patterns.

Main Components:

1. MAJOR LINES (Blue/Red, Thick)

  • — Long-term trend based on SMA(70) and LWMA(10) crossover
  • Identifies main peaks and troughs in price movement
  • Blue line = Resistance (connecting highs)
  • Red line = Support (connecting lows)
  • Suitable for swing trading and position trading

2. MINOR LINES (Cyan/Orange, Thin)

  • Short-term trend based on SMA(21) and LWMA(4) crossover

3. FRACTAL LINES (Green/Purple, Medium)

How It Works:

— Wave Detection: The indicator tracks crossovers between fast (LWMA) and slow (SMA) moving averages

— Peak/Trough Identification: Finds extreme prices during each wave phase

— Fractal Analysis: Identifies classic fractals (center bar higher/lower than neighboring bars)

— Line Optimization: Searches through all fractal combinations to find the best trend lines

— Quality Filtering: Displays only lines with minimum 4 points within 0.3% tolerance

Key Parameters:

  • Max Bars to Calculate (1000) - History depth for analysis
  • Minimum Fractals per Line (4) - Minimum points per line
  • Maximum Lines per Type (3) - Maximum lines of each type (to avoid cluttering the chart)
  • Line Tolerance (% of price) (0.003) - Price deviation tolerance (0.3%)

INDICATOR SETTINGS

Major Waves (Long-term Trend):

MajorSMA_Period (70) - Period of slow moving average for determining the main trend. Higher values provide more stable and reliable signals, but slower reaction to market changes.

MajorLWMA_Period (10) - Period of fast weighted moving average for smoothing. Determines entry points for long-term positions.

Minor Waves (Short-term Trend):

MinorSMA_Period (21) - Period of slow moving average for detecting local trends. Suitable for intraday trading and scalping.

MinorLWMA_Period (4) - Period of fast weighted moving average. Generates frequent signals for active trading.

Fractal Analysis:

FractalPeriod (5) - Number of bars to the left and right for fractal identification. Standard value according to Bill Williams. Increasing gives fewer but more reliable fractals.

FractalLineTolerance (0.003) - Acceptable price deviation from trend line (in percent). Value 0.003 = 0.3%. Lower values mean stricter quality requirements for lines.

MinFractalsForLine (4) - Minimum number of fractals to build a trend line. More points = more reliable line, but fewer lines on the chart.

MaxFractalLines (3) - Maximum number of fractal lines of each type (resistance/support). Prevents chart clutter.

General Settings:

MaxBarsToCalculate (1000) - Analysis history depth in bars. Recommended 500-1000 for optimal performance. Higher = more accurate analysis, but slower calculation.

SensitivityPoints (5) - Sensitivity for detecting wave changes (in points). Filters false signals during small price fluctuations.

Display:

  • ShowMajorTL - Show long-term trend lines (blue/red, thick)
  • ShowMinorTL - Show short-term trend lines (cyan/orange, thin)
  • ShowFractalTL - Show automatic fractal lines (green/purple)
  • ShowStatPanel - Show information panel with number of active lines

Color Settings:

All line colors can be customized individually:

  • Major lines (resistance/support)
  • Minor lines (resistance/support)
  • Fractal lines (resistance/support)

Panel Settings:

  • PanelX / PanelY - Information panel position on chart
  • PanelFontSize - Panel font size
  • PanelBgColor - Panel background color
  • PanelTextColor - Panel text color
  • PanelBorderColor - Panel border color

CONFIGURATION RECOMMENDATIONS

— For swing trading: Use only major lines, increase MajorSMA_Period to 100

— For scalping: Keep only minor lines, decrease MinorSMA_Period to 13

— For maximum accuracy: Increase MinFractalsForLine to 5-6 and decrease FractalLineTolerance to 0.002

— For clean chart: Decrease MaxFractalLines to 2 or disable fractal lines completely
