Flintridge Trader Pro is a non-repainting signal-and-trade-management indicator for MetaTrader 4. It fixes the two failures that ruin most crossover tools: signals that repaint and signals that abandon you with no stop or target. The engine detects entries from the crossover of a close-based moving average against an open-based moving average, with selectable ALMA, HullMA, or TEMA smoothing and an alternate higher-timeframe confirmation channel. Every confirmed signal is automatically turned into a complete trade plan — one stop loss and three take-profit targets — and tracked by an internal state machine from entry to close. Swing-based supply and demand zones with automatic Break-of-Structure conversion supply structural context, three MetaTrader-only accuracy filters strip out low-quality setups, and a multi-section dashboard plus a full alert package keep you informed.

How It Works
Multi-MA Crossover Engine
Two moving averages are computed every bar: one on the close, one on the open, using the same algorithm and period. A close-MA crossing above the open-MA registers a BUY; crossing below registers a SELL. The close-vs-open relationship encodes the smoothed intrabar directional bias, so the signal turns earlier than a comparable fast/slow dual-MA system while staying smooth. The default MA period is a tight 2 because the smoothing algorithms are themselves low-lag.
Selectable Smoothing — ALMA / HullMA / TEMA
ALMA (default, sigma 5, offset 0.85) uses a Gaussian-weighted window pushed toward recent bars for the best lag/smoothness trade-off. HullMA is the fastest, turning at the earliest possible moment. TEMA is the smoothest, ideal for noisy exotics and crypto. An optional Heikin Ashi source mode feeds Heikin Ashi open/close into the MAs for even cleaner trend-aligned signals.
Alternate Higher-Timeframe Confirmation
A second copy of the engine runs on a timeframe roughly 8× higher than the chart (auto-scaling). A signal only prints when the higher timeframe agrees with its direction, discarding the large majority of losing counter-trend setups. The confirmation is itself non-repainting.
Supply & Demand Zones + POI + Auto BOS
Confirmed swings (swing length 10) anchor supply and demand zones whose thickness is ATR-scaled (box width factor 2.5), with the 20 most recent zones kept on the chart. Each zone carries a POI midline through its center. When price closes through a zone, automatic Break-of-Structure conversion flips and relabels it — broken supply becomes demand and vice versa — turning old levels into high-probability re-test targets.
Automatic Risk — SL + 3 Take-Profits
Every signal becomes a fully specified trade via an internal state machine (flat → entry → TP1 → TP2 → TP3, or SL → flat). Distances are percentage-based so they are correct on every instrument with no retuning: Stop Loss 0.5%, TP1 1.0%, TP2 1.5%, TP3 2.0%. Levels are drawn forward with right-edge price tags and the most recent signal is projected 40 bars ahead. Hits are tracked live with on-chart markers.
Non-Repainting Signal Engine
All detection happens on confirmed closed bars via a delay-offset construction. The signal on bar N at chart load is identical to the signal that fired live during bar N. Forward-test results match historical replay.
MetaTrader-Only Accuracy Filters
These three filters run inside the MT4/MT5 build to suppress low-quality signals and raise the average quality of what prints:
- EMA-Trend Filter (EMA-144) — BUY only when price is above the EMA-144, SELL only below it. No buying a falling market, no selling a rising one.
- RSI(28) Filter — blocks BUY signals when overbought and SELL signals when oversold, so you never enter into an exhausted extreme. The longer 28 period reaches extremes only on genuinely stretched conditions.
- Signal Cooldown — a minimum bar gap between entries (default 15) enforces one decision per meaningful move and is the single most effective defense against over-trading a chop.
A signal that survives the higher-TF confirmation plus all three filters agrees with the higher timeframe, agrees with the dominant trend, is not entering an exhausted extreme, and is cleanly spaced from the previous trade.

Best Markets and Timeframes
Flintridge Trader Pro is symbol- and timeframe-agnostic — the percentage-based risk model and ATR-scaled zones adapt to any instrument. Forex majors on M15–H4 are the sweet spot. Gold and indices work well on M30–H4. Crypto is best on H1+ with TEMA selected. Higher timeframes give fewer, higher-conviction signals; lower timeframes lean harder on the accuracy filters. The user manual ships three tuned presets (Scalping, Swing, Conservative).
