Automatically Detect Converging Wedge Patterns Across Multiple Symbols and Timeframes
The Wolfe Wave is one of the most powerful and uniquely structured patterns in technical analysis. Unlike harmonic patterns that rely on Fibonacci ratios, Wolfe Waves use pure geometry — converging trendlines that predict not just where price will go, but when it will arrive there. This built-in price and time projection makes the Wolfe Wave unlike any other pattern available to traders.
Finding valid Wolfe Waves manually demands precise identification of all five pivot points and careful verification that lines 1-3 and 2-4 genuinely converge. This dashboard eliminates that manual work by automatically scanning up to 20 instruments across 9 timeframes, detecting all five pivot points, drawing the complete pattern geometry, and alerting you the moment a valid Wolfe Wave is confirmed.

What Makes Wolfe Waves Unique
Most pattern-based trading tools require you to estimate your take profit zone using external calculations or Fibonacci extensions. The Wolfe Wave is fundamentally different — the pattern structure itself provides a mathematically-derived price target built directly into the geometry.
Built-in Price Target — The Target Line connecting Points 1 and 4 projects exactly where price is heading after Point 5 triggers the move. There is no guessing, no external tool needed. The pattern itself defines your take profit zone.
Time Prediction — The convergence point of the 1-3 trendline and the 2-4 trendline estimates when the move will reach its target. No other common pattern structure provides this time-based projection.
Clear Entry Point — Point 5 provides a precise entry trigger when price touches or crosses the 1-3 trendline. The entry zone is objective and rule-based, removing ambiguity from your decision-making.
Universal Application — Wolfe Waves appear in Forex, Gold, Indices, Commodities, and Cryptocurrencies. Wherever price forms converging wedge structures, the Wolfe Wave framework applies.
How the Pattern Works
The Wolfe Wave is a 5-point structure built around two converging trendlines:
Line 1-3 connects Points 1 and 3 and acts as the boundary that price breaks at Point 5 to trigger the entry.
Line 2-4 connects Points 2 and 4 and forms the opposing converging boundary.
For a bullish Wolfe Wave (falling wedge), Points 1, 3, and 5 form the lower converging boundary while Points 2 and 4 form the upper boundary. Point 5 overshoots the 1-3 line slightly before reversing sharply upward toward the Target Line.
For a bearish Wolfe Wave (rising wedge), the structure is inverted. Points 1, 3, and 5 form the upper converging boundary with Point 5 overshooting before reversing downward.
The critical requirement that makes Wolfe Waves both rare and reliable is that lines 1-3 and 2-4 must genuinely converge — they must meet at a future point in time. This convergence requirement is what the indicator validates automatically on every candidate structure.
How This Indicator Works
The Wolfe Wave Dashboard continuously monitors all enabled symbols and timeframes in the background. It uses swing pivot detection to identify the five required pivot points, then validates the geometric convergence requirement before displaying anything on the dashboard.
Every pattern you see has already passed strict geometric validation:
All five pivot points confirmed with bars on both sides for full validation
Lines 1-3 and 2-4 verified to converge to the right
Correct alternating high/low structure across all five points
Target Line 1-4 automatically calculated and plotted
If the convergence requirement is not met, the pattern is not displayed. Only properly formed Wolfe Waves with genuine converging geometry appear in your dashboard.
Core Features
Multi-Symbol Dashboard — Monitor up to 20 instruments simultaneously from a single panel. Works with any symbol available in your MetaTrader terminal: Forex pairs, Gold (XAUUSD), Silver, Indices like US30 and NAS100, Cryptocurrencies, and Commodities. Broker symbol prefixes and suffixes are handled automatically.
9 Timeframe Coverage — Scans M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, and MN simultaneously. Every enabled symbol and timeframe is monitored continuously in the background with zero manual effort.
Non-Repainting Signals — Patterns only appear after all five pivot points are fully confirmed with bars on both sides. Once a Wolfe Wave appears on your chart, it will never disappear or change. This makes the indicator safe for live trading analysis and historical review.
Built-In Target Line — When a Wolfe Wave is confirmed, the Target Line connecting Points 1 and 4 is automatically drawn on the chart. This line represents the mathematically-derived price target the pattern naturally aims for — no external projection tools required.
Yellow-Filled Wedge Visualization — The complete pattern geometry is drawn on the chart with a yellow-filled wedge connecting all five points. Lines 1-3 and 2-4 are displayed clearly, making the converging structure immediately visible.
One-Click Chart Navigation — Click any row in the dashboard to instantly jump to that symbol and timeframe. The chart switches automatically and the full pattern is displayed, ready for analysis.
4 Alert Types — Receive alerts via screen popup, customizable sound file, email notification, and mobile push notification through MetaQuotes ID. Any combination can be enabled independently so you are notified wherever you are when a Wolfe Wave is confirmed.
Fully Customizable Parameters — Pivot detection sensitivity, timeframe selection, and visual settings are all adjustable to match your personal trading preferences.

How to Trade the Wolfe Wave
Entry — Enter at Point 5 when price touches or crosses the 1-3 trendline and shows a reversal signal. For bullish patterns, look for rejection at the lower wedge boundary. For bearish patterns, look for rejection at the upper wedge boundary. A supporting candlestick reversal pattern at Point 5 adds confirmation.
Stop Loss — Place the stop beyond Point 5 itself. For bullish Wolfe Waves, the stop goes below the Point 5 low with a small buffer. For bearish patterns, the stop goes above the Point 5 high. The pattern structure naturally defines a tight and logical stop placement.
Target — Use the Target Line connecting Points 1 and 4 as your primary profit target. Price typically moves from Point 5 directly toward this line. The convergence point of lines 1-3 and 2-4 provides an additional time-based reference for when price may reach the target.
Wolfe Waves vs Harmonic Patterns
Harmonic patterns use Fibonacci ratios at each leg to define valid structures. Wolfe Waves use geometric line convergence — two trendlines that must physically meet in the future. This geometric requirement makes Wolfe Waves entirely independent of Fibonacci measurements and provides something harmonic patterns cannot: a built-in price target and timing estimate derived directly from the pattern geometry itself. The two approaches are complementary and can be used together for additional confluence.
Who This Indicator Is For
Breakout traders who want to catch high-momentum reversals at the completion of converging wedge structures with a clear target already defined by the pattern.
Multi-pair traders monitoring Forex, Gold, Indices, or Crypto across multiple symbols who need a single dashboard to track every confirmed Wolfe Wave without switching charts manually.
Part-time traders who cannot monitor charts full-time. Mobile push alerts capture every confirmed Wolfe Wave in real-time, allowing you to review and act during available windows.
System developers building rule-based trading strategies who need non-repainting, historically consistent signals confirmed on fully validated pivot structures as a reliable foundation for backtesting.
Precision traders who want only properly formed patterns with genuine converging geometry — not loose wedge approximations that fail the convergence requirement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the indicator repaint?
No. Signals only appear after all five pivot points are confirmed with bars on both sides. Once displayed, signals never change or disappear. The indicator is fully reliable for both live trading and historical analysis.
What is the difference between Wolfe Waves and harmonic patterns?
Harmonic patterns use Fibonacci ratios such as 0.618 and 0.786 to validate each point. Wolfe Waves use geometric line convergence — two trendlines that must meet at a future point in time. Wolfe Waves also provide a built-in price target through the 1-4 Target Line, which harmonic patterns do not offer natively.
Are Wolfe Waves common?
Wolfe Waves are less common than some patterns because the convergence requirements are strict. This rarity is a quality advantage — when a valid Wolfe Wave appears, it has already met the geometric criteria that distinguish it from loose wedge formations. Fewer signals means higher quality signals.
What markets does it work on?
Any market available in MetaTrader with sufficient price history — Forex pairs, XAUUSD, Silver, US30, NAS100, Crypto, and all other available instruments. Enter the symbol name exactly as it appears in your Market Watch.
How do I set up mobile alerts?
Enable Push Alerts in the indicator settings, then add your MetaQuotes ID in the Notifications tab under MetaTrader Options. Step-by-step setup instructions are included in the user guide.
Does it work with broker symbol naming variations?
Yes. The indicator automatically handles custom prefixes and suffixes. EURUSD, EURUSD.pro, EURUSDm, and similar broker-specific naming conventions are all recognized without any manual configuration.
