The Descent Blade Indicator is a non-repainting trend reversal signal system for MetaTrader 4. It combines a Wilder Parabolic SAR with a one-bar lagging variant for entry detection and a Bill Williams Fractal layer for take profit and re-entry signals. Every signal is calculated on a confirmed bar close — historical signals never move, change, or disappear once printed.
The system addresses the core problem of raw Parabolic SAR trading: the standard SAR flips frequently in choppy conditions, generating dozens of false signals between genuine trend changes. The lagging variant acts as a structural confirmation gate, filtering out the high-frequency noise while still firing on every genuine trend reversal. The BW Fractal layer adds context-aware take profit and re-entry signals that adapt to the swing structure of each trade.

How It Works
Lagging PSAR Cross Engine
The indicator computes a Wilder Parabolic SAR with configurable Start, Increment, and Max acceleration factor. The lagging PSAR is the standard SAR shifted by one bar. A BUY entry fires when the bar's high crosses above the lagging line with the prior bar below; a SELL entry fires on the mirror condition with low and lagging. This formulation is mathematically equivalent to the standard SAR flip, but the lagging line provides a stable on-chart visual reference that traders can use as a structural pivot.
BW Fractal TP and RE Layer
A Bill Williams Fractal engine detects pivot points using a configurable lookback (default 2 bars on each side). Each detected fractal is added to an internal list and tracked for breakouts. When a fractal is broken out during an active trade, it becomes eligible to trigger a TP signal (if price has moved beyond the entry) or an RE signal (a counter-direction scale-in opportunity). TP and RE signals require a candle direction reversal at the breakout bar to confirm structural exhaustion.
Position State Machine
The indicator tracks a single internal position state (NONE, BUY, or SELL). Transitions occur on lagging PSAR crosses; while a position is open, the TP and RE engines monitor for fractal-confirmed events. Each fractal can trigger only one TP and one RE per trade, preventing duplicate signals.
Non-Repainting Architecture
All signal evaluation runs on confirmed (closed) bars only. The live forming bar at shift 0 is excluded from state machine processing. Signals printed during the historical scan exactly match what would have appeared in real time at bar close. The historical scan is silent — alerts are suppressed until the scan completes, so loading the indicator on a chart with months of history does not flood the trader with retroactive notifications.
