Magnet Wall MT5

Magnet Wall Indicator is a no-repaint ATR-driven trend-band system for MetaTrader 5. It draws two adaptive bands above and below price that act as magnetic walls — they contain price while a trend is intact and flip when the wall is broken. Bars and bands recolor automatically with the active trend, and a buy or sell signal is committed at the moment the trend reverses. The indicator is built on Wilder ATR with a configurable multiplier, uses an asymmetric breakout-anchor algorithm (not standard Supertrend), and ships with a full alert package covering popup, push notification, email, and sound.

How It Works

Asymmetric ATR Trend Bands

On every closed bar, the indicator measures the Wilder ATR over a configurable lookback (default: 5 bars) and multiplies it by the band-width multiplier (default: 7.6) to produce a delta that defines how far the bands sit above and below the source price. When the source price closes outside one of the bands, the corresponding wall snaps to the new extreme; when price stays inside, both walls freeze. The middle of the bands is the trend reference: a rising midline means uptrend, a falling midline means downtrend.

This is not a standard Supertrend. Supertrend continuously adjusts both bands every bar; Magnet Wall freezes the inactive band on inside bars, only moves the breached band on outside bars, and uses a paired-anchor rule to prevent the bands from widening when the structural side of the trend is intact. The result is a pair of trend walls that hold price through normal noise and flip cleanly on genuine breakouts.

Color-Coded Trend Bars and Bands

Both upper and lower bands recolor on every trend flip — green during uptrends, red during downtrends. With Color Bars enabled, every candle in the active trend is also painted in the trend color, giving the chart an immediate visual read on the prevailing direction. The colors are user-configurable inputs.

Signal Markers — Labels and Arrows

When the trend changes from down to up, a green up-arrow is plotted at the bar's low together with an "L" (Long) label. When the trend changes from up to down, a red down-arrow appears at the bar's high together with an "S" (Short) label. Arrows and labels are toggled independently and have separate color inputs. All markers are anchored to bar time, never repaint, and remain on every historical signal so the user can review the indicator's full track record at a glance.

No-Repaint Architecture

Signals are evaluated only on closed bars. The current forming bar never produces a label, an arrow, or an alert. State is carried forward through indicator buffers (auto-shifted by MT4 / MT5) so historical bars are locked once written. Reattaching the indicator regenerates the same signals at the same bar times.
