Gold Talon EA — Precision XAUUSD Trading, Walk-Forward Verified
Gold Talon EA is a fully automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 built for one purpose: capturing high-probability reversals on gold (XAUUSD). It is primarily a short-side strategy — approximately 95% of trades are sell entries, where mean-reversion signals on gold are strongest and most reliable. Selective long entries are taken opportunistically when oversold conditions are extreme. This directional focus is by design: rather than forcing trades in both directions for symmetry, Gold Talon concentrates on the side of the market where its edge is sharpest.

Walk-Forward Validation
Walk-forward testing is the gold standard for verifying that a strategy works on data it has never seen. Gold Talon EA was optimized on 2020–2024 data, then tested on completely unseen 2025–2026 data. The out-of-sample results actually outperformed the in-sample period — the strongest possible validation outcome.
To validate robustness beyond a single backtest path, we ran 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations randomizing trade order and sizing:
Gold Talon EA monitors XAUUSD on the H1 timeframe for proprietary momentum-divergence signals — situations where price action and underlying momentum disagree, indicating a likely reversal. A proprietary wick-ratio filter confirms signal quality before any trade is taken.
The EA focuses on the short side of gold, where its reversal signals have the highest historical accuracy. Each trade uses a tight, symmetrical risk-to-reward profile with fixed take-profit and stop-loss levels, keeping the equity curve smooth. Selective long entries are taken when extreme oversold conditions present a high-conviction opportunity.
On average, the EA places approximately 17 trades per month — active enough to generate consistent returns, but disciplined enough to avoid overtrading during choppy markets.
