Perfect VWAP Pro - Anchored VWAP, Session Anchoring and Band Squeeze Detection
Most VWAP indicators calculate one thing: a rolling average over the last N bars. Perfect VWAP Pro adds the two calculations that professional traders actually ask for, a true anchored VWAP and a session anchored VWAP, and then measures what the deviation bands are doing rather than only drawing them.
THREE CALCULATION MODES
Anchored. Choose any date and the average accumulates forward from that point and never resets. This is the calculation traders use after an earnings release, a central bank decision, a gap or a major swing high or low, because it answers a specific question: what is the true average price everyone has paid since that event. A rolling average cannot answer it, because it forgets the event as soon as the window moves past it.
Session. The average resets at the start of every day, week or month and accumulates within that period. This is the institutional reference price, the level that decides whether the session is being bought or sold, and it is the version most execution desks watch.
Rolling. A moving volume weighted average over a chosen number of bars, for traders who want a responsive line that follows recent activity rather than an anchored reference.
BAND SQUEEZE AND EXPANSION
The three standard deviation bands are volume weighted, not price weighted, so they widen when the market disagrees on value and contract when it agrees. The indicator measures the width of the first band as a percentage of the VWAP itself, then ranks that width against the previous bars using a percentile.
When current width sits in the lowest percentile band, the state reads SQUEEZE and a yellow marker is placed. When it sits in the highest, the state reads EXPANSION with a green marker. Percentile ranking matters here: a fixed threshold that works on gold is meaningless on a currency pair, while a percentile adapts to whatever instrument and timeframe the chart is showing.
MULTI-TIMEFRAME VWAP
Daily, weekly and monthly VWAP lines can be drawn on the same chart alongside the main calculation, so an intraday chart can show where price sits relative to the weekly and monthly reference at the same time. The MetaTrader 5 version draws all three; the MetaTrader 4 version draws one selectable line, because that platform limits the number of indicator buffers.
INFORMATION PANEL
A compact panel reports the active mode, the current VWAP value, the distance from price to VWAP as a percentage, the current band width, and the squeeze or expansion state. The state line changes colour so the condition is readable without reading numbers.
ALERTS
Three independent conditions, each switched on separately: price touching the outer third band, price crossing the VWAP line, and a change into squeeze or expansion. Alerts fire once per closed bar, never repeatedly within a forming bar, and can be delivered as a popup, a push notification to the mobile terminal, or a sound.
MAIN INPUTS
Calculation mode, rolling period, session reset interval, anchor date, applied price and shift. Band visibility and three standard deviation multipliers. Daily, weekly and monthly line visibility. Squeeze detection with lookback length and the two percentile thresholds. Alert conditions and delivery methods. Panel position, colour and font size.
TRADING IDEAS
Anchor to the last significant high or low and watch how price behaves on the first return to the anchored average. That first test, rather than the anchor itself, is where the information usually is.
Treat a squeeze as a warning that the current range is unusually narrow for this instrument, not as a direction. Squeezes resolve in both directions; the value is in being ready before the expansion rather than reacting after it.
Use the session VWAP as the line that separates buyers from sellers within the day, and the weekly or monthly line as context for whether that day is trading above or below a longer reference.
When price is far outside the third band, the mean reversion argument is strongest in a range and weakest in a strong trend. The band width reading tells you which of the two you are in.

RELATIONSHIP TO THE FREE VERSION
The free Perfect VWAP is a rolling volume weighted average with fixed deviation bands, and it remains available and fully functional. Perfect VWAP Pro is a different calculation set rather than a larger version of the same one: anchored and session accumulation, percentile based squeeze and expansion measurement, multi-timeframe reference lines, an information panel and an alert system. If a rolling VWAP is all a strategy needs, the free version is the correct choice.
