ThunderPips is a fully automated trading system designed for MetaTrader 5, optimized for the M5 timeframe on major stable pairs including EURUSD, EURCHF, EURGBP, and AUDNZD.

Built with capital protection as the primary goal, the EA integrates six advanced risk management mechanisms to minimize drawdowns while maintaining consistent performance.

Key Features

  • Attenuated Martingale: The lot size multiplier dynamically flattens in higher levels (1.35x for levels 1-3, 1.20x for levels 4-6, and 1.0x from level 7 onwards) to prevent exponential margin exhaustion.
  • Native News Filter: Automatically pauses opening new trading cycles 120 minutes before and after high-impact economic news affecting the traded currencies or USD. Uses native MT5 calendar data without external WebRequest connections.
  • Drawdown Reduction System: Once the grid reaches level 6 or higher, the system closes the oldest losing trade with the profits generated by the newest scalping orders in the grid, systematically shrinking exposure.
  • Trend and Volatility Filters: Entry is filtered by ADX (trend strength under 30) and Bollinger Bands to avoid entering grids during runaway trends.
  • Virtual Basket Trailing: Tracks the overall basket profit in USD and trails the profit virtual stop, securing gains and preventing margin overload.
  • Equity Stop-Out: Customizable hard equity stop to close all positions if the account drawdown reaches a user-defined threshold.

Recommended Setup

  • Timeframe: M5 (5 Minutes)
  • Minimum Balance: 500 USD
  • Initial Lot: 0.01
  • Leverage: 1:500 or higher
  • Currency Pairs: EURUSD (default parameters), EURCHF, EURGBP, and AUDNZD (using provided settings files)

Safe Pausing and Stopping Instructions

  • Safe Pause: To withdraw funds or halt trading without affecting active grids, wait for the dashboard to show active trades as zero. Then, disable Algo Trading in MetaTrader 5.
  • Universal Stop: To immediately close or stop all operations, disable Algo Trading. If there are active positions, close them manually.
