IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASE
This robot uses a Moving Average crossover as its main trading signal. Therefore, understanding how MA periods and MA calculation methods affect crossover behavior is an important part of configuring the EA.
The default configuration is intentionally kept simple:
- Short MA crosses above Long MA → Open Buy
- Short MA crosses below Long MA → Open Sell
- Close the current position when an opposite signal appears
- Additional trade-management functions and filters are disabled by default
This simple default setup allows users to understand the basic crossover behavior and configure the EA step by step. For this reason, the default backtest may not produce particularly attractive results.
Moving Average crossover systems may behave differently depending on market conditions. They may perform differently during trending, ranging or highly volatile periods.
The EA therefore provides additional trade-management functions such as Trailing Stop, Basket SL/TP, Auto Close, Grid, Hedging, Volume Management and Recover.
It also provides Time Filters, Direction Filters and multiple optional technical filters that can be used to make the trading conditions more selective.
By combining the Short MA and Long MA settings with suitable trade-management functions and filters, users can create configurations that behave very differently from the basic default setup.
There is no single MA combination or configuration suitable for every trader. Appropriate settings depend on the symbol, timeframe, trading method, account conditions and each user's acceptable level of risk.
OVERVIEW
Dual MA Cross Robot is an automated trading robot based on the crossover between two independently configurable Moving Averages:
- Short MA
- Long MA
The EA monitors the relationship between these two Moving Averages and generates trading signals when they cross.
Each Moving Average can use its own period, calculation method and applied price, allowing users to create different combinations ranging from simple trend-following configurations to more responsive crossover setups.
The robot combines this Dual MA Cross logic with a flexible set of trade-management, risk-control and filtering functions.
Users can keep the configuration simple or combine different management functions and filters according to their own trading method, symbol, timeframe and acceptable level of risk.
DUAL MA CROSS TRADING LOGIC
The main trading logic is based on the relationship between the Short MA and the Long MA.
- Buy Signal: generated when the Short MA crosses above the Long MA.
- Sell Signal: generated when the Short MA crosses below the Long MA.
The two Moving Averages are calculated independently, so users can configure different periods, calculation methods and applied prices for each MA.
For example, a common configuration may use a faster Short MA together with a slower Long MA:
Short MA: 14 periods
Long MA: 28 periods
These values are only examples. Users can select different parameters according to the symbol, timeframe and trading approach being tested.
SUPPORTED MOVING AVERAGE METHODS
Both the Short MA and Long MA can independently use one of the following Moving Average methods:
- SMA – Simple Moving Average
- EMA – Exponential Moving Average
- SMMA / RMA – Smoothed Moving Average
- LWMA – Linear Weighted Moving Average
- HMA – Hull Moving Average
- WMA – Weighted Moving Average
- VWMA – Volume Weighted Moving Average
This allows different MA combinations to be created.
Examples include:
- EMA + EMA
- SMA + SMA
- EMA + SMA
- HMA + EMA
- HMA + HMA
- LWMA + EMA
- VWMA + EMA
- SMMA + SMA
The Short MA and Long MA do not need to use the same calculation method.

MOVING AVERAGE CONFIGURATION
The Short MA and Long MA can be configured separately.
Users can adjust parameters such as:
- Short MA Period
- Short MA Method
- Short MA Applied Price
- Long MA Period
- Long MA Method
- Long MA Applied Price
Volume-related settings are also available where required by the selected MA calculation method.
A shorter MA period generally reacts more quickly to price changes, while a longer MA period generally produces a smoother line.
Different MA methods can also change how quickly each Moving Average responds to market movement.
Users can therefore test different combinations instead of being restricted to a fixed Fast EMA / Slow EMA configuration.
OPTIONAL TECHNICAL FILTERS
The main Dual MA Cross signals can be combined with optional technical filters for additional confirmation.
Available filters may include:
- Moving Average
- RSI
- Stochastic
- ADX
- MACD
- SuperTrend
- Volumatic VIDyA
- Predictive Ranges
Filters can be enabled or disabled independently depending on the trading configuration.
You do not need to enable every filter. Using more filters does not automatically mean a better configuration. Their purpose is to allow users to define additional trading conditions according to their own strategy.
FLEXIBLE TRADE MANAGEMENT
The EA can be configured in different ways depending on how much trade management the user wants to apply.
A basic configuration can use:
Dual MA Cross + Stop Loss + Take Profit
A more selective configuration may use:
Dual MA Cross + Direction Filter + Time Filter + Technical Filter + Trailing Stop
More advanced configurations can also use functions such as:
Basket TP/SL + Auto Close + Volume Management + Recover + Grid or Hedging
These functions are optional. Users can disable functions that do not match their trading method or risk tolerance.
RISK AND POSITION MANAGEMENT
The EA provides several methods for controlling position size and managing open trades.
Some functions, especially Volume Management, Recover, Grid and Hedging, can increase market exposure when configured aggressively.
These functions should therefore be configured according to account size, trading conditions and the level of drawdown the user is prepared to accept.
Users who prefer simpler risk management can keep these functions disabled and use fixed or risk-based lot sizing together with conventional Stop Loss and Take Profit settings.
TIME, DIRECTION AND MARKET FILTERS
The EA provides several controls for restricting when trades are allowed.
Depending on the configuration, users can:
- Trade only during selected sessions
- Allow only Buy or Sell trades during specific periods
- Disable trading on selected days of the week
- Avoid selected holiday periods
- Restrict trading around economic news events
- Use technical filters to confirm market direction or conditions
These functions can be used individually or combined with the main Dual MA Cross signal logic.
NEED HELP WITH THE SETTINGS?
The EA contains many configurable inputs, but users do not need to use every function.
If you are unsure how to configure the robot, you can contact me after purchasing and describe how you want the EA to trade.
For example:
- Which Short MA period should be used?
- Which Long MA period should be used?
- Which MA calculation method should be used?
- When should an existing trade be closed?
- Which trading direction should be allowed?
- Which trading sessions should be used?
- How should Stop Loss and Take Profit work?
- How should lot size be calculated?
- Should Trailing Stop be enabled?
- Which technical filters should confirm a trade?
- Should Grid, Recover, Volume Management or Hedging be used?
Based on the trading behavior you describe, I can explain which EA settings correspond to that configuration.
BACKTESTING AND OPTIMIZATION
Users can test different combinations of Short MA and Long MA periods, MA calculation methods, applied prices, trade-management settings and filters in the Strategy Tester.
For example, users can compare different combinations such as EMA/EMA, SMA/SMA, HMA/EMA or other supported MA configurations.
Different symbols, timeframes and broker conditions can behave differently, so a configuration that works in one environment may not behave the same way in another.
Backtesting can help evaluate how a configuration behaved on historical data, but historical results do not guarantee future performance.
Spread, commission, liquidity, volatility and execution conditions may also affect trading results.
FINAL NOTE
Dual MA Cross Robot is a configurable automated trading tool and does not guarantee profit.
Its purpose is to automate a Dual Moving Average crossover strategy and combine it with flexible trade-management, risk-control and filtering functions.
Users should select Moving Average parameters and management settings according to their own trading method, account size and acceptable level of risk, and test configurations carefully before using them in live trading.
