FxTT News Feed
FxTT News Feed is a free companion Expert Advisor for ChartDeck PRO. It has no trading logic, places no orders, manages no positions, and reads no market prices. It fetches economic calendar data on a timer and writes it to a local file, because MetaTrader 4 indicators cannot make network requests.
Attach it once to any chart in the terminal. One instance serves every ChartDeck PRO chart there.
This is a prerequisite for ChartDeck PRO's Daily News row, not a general-purpose tool. Without ChartDeck PRO installed, it has nothing to do.
What it does
- Requests the FxTT economic calendar feed on a timer, every 15 minutes by default
- Writes the result to a local file that ChartDeck PRO's Daily News row reads
- Keeps previous data in place on a failed request and reports the failure reason, so ChartDeck PRO shows a diagnostic instead of losing the last known events
- Backs off after repeated failures, up to a 4-hour maximum interval, and recovers once a request succeeds
- Sends no account, symbol, order, or other identifying data in its request
- Runs no license check; every installation makes the same anonymous request
Basic usage
- Attach FxTT News Feed to any one chart, a spare chart with no other EA works best
- In the terminal's Expert Advisors options, allow the calendar address listed under Security below
- Leave the chart open; the terminal's Expert Advisors button must stay enabled
- Open a ChartDeck PRO chart's Daily News drawer and confirm the Feed field reports OK
Input parameters
- Poll interval, in minutes: the feed itself refreshes no more than every 15 minutes, with a 5-minute floor, so a lower value just spends request budget without returning data sooner
Security
This Expert Advisor makes network requests to one address, which must be on the terminal's allow list:
- Open Tools, then Options, then Expert Advisors
- Enable "Allow WebRequest for listed URL"
- Add exactly: https://calendar.forextradingtools.eu/
- Restart this Expert Advisor after changing the list
The request carries no account number, symbol, license key, or other identifying value. Every installation gets the same response.
