KT Forex Sessions MT5

See which forex session you are trading in, and how many pips each session moved, right on your MetaTrader 5 chart. KT Forex Sessions MT5 is a session indicator that draws the Tokyo, London and New York sessions as colored boxes and writes the size of each session in pips on its box.

The indicator reads your broker's GMT offset by itself, and every session follows its own city's local time and summer time. The boxes stay in the right place all year, with nothing to set.

What you see on your chart

• The pips on every box: a quiet session and a busy session are easy to tell apart at a glance, on every pair you trade.
• No time zone conversions: no GMT offset to look up, and no change to make when the clocks move in spring and in autumn.
• The overlap in its own box: the hours when London and New York are both open have their own purple box.
• The open session grows live: its box follows each new high and low until the session closes, and its label counts the pips.
• The next sessions as dotted boxes: you see where the coming Tokyo, London and New York sessions sit before they open.
• A panel with the times: your broker's clock, the open session with the time left until it closes, and the time until each next session opens.
• Five sessions, your choice of style: Sydney, Tokyo, Frankfurt, London and New York, each as a filled box, an outline only, or hidden.
• Session alerts: a sound, a pop up, an email or a push notification on your phone when a session shown on your chart opens.

Why the pips on the box matter

Over 58 trading days, from the middle of July to the end of September 2026, the Tokyo session on EURUSD reached 30 pips on only 4 days. The London session reached 30 pips on 36 days. On GBPUSD, Tokyo did it on 10 days and London on 49 days.

A target that needs 30 pips belongs in the London session or the New York session. The boxes show you this on your own pair, every day.

How to use it

• Attach the indicator to a chart of M15 or any timeframe up to H4.
• Before you take a trade, look at the box you are in and at the pips the same session made on the past days.
• If you can watch the chart only a few hours a day, choose the purple overlap box. On EURUSD it moved more than the whole Tokyo session on 37 of 57 days.
• Turn on Push Notifications and add your MetaQuotes ID in MetaTrader. The London open then reaches your phone, and you can leave the chart through the quiet Tokyo hours.

Try the demo first

Run the demo in the visual mode of the Strategy Tester on EURUSD M15. Watch the Tokyo box stay small, then see the London box grow with each new high and low while its label counts the pips.

Recommendations

• Pairs: the major pairs and their crosses, such as EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY and EURJPY.
• Timeframes: M5, M15 and M30 show each session clearly. The boxes are hidden above H4 by default.
• Sessions: Tokyo, London, New York and the overlap are shown by default. Turn on Sydney and Frankfurt when you trade the Australian dollar or the euro early in the day.

Input parameters

• Broker GMT offset (default Automatic): reads the offset from your broker's clock. Choose Manual to type the offset in the next input.
• Manual GMT offset in hours (default 0): used only in Manual mode.
• Days of past sessions (default 10): how many past days are drawn.
• Show the sessions still to come (default true): draws the next sessions as dotted boxes.
• Show each session's range in its label (default true): writes the pips on each box.
• Draw the legend panel (default true): shows the panel with the broker clock and the session times.
• Filled box strength, 5 to 100 (default 30): how strong the color of a filled box is.
• Label font size (default 9): the size of the session labels.
• Hide above this timeframe (default H4): hides the boxes on higher timeframes.
• Box, Opens at, Closes at and color for each session: Filled box, Outline only or Hidden, and the hours in the city's own local time (default 8 to 16).
• Overlap box and Overlap color (default Filled box, Orchid): the London and New York overlap.
• Sound Alert, Sound File, PopUp Alert, Email Alert, Push Notifications (default on, alert.wav): how you are told that a session has opened.

Trade the hours that move

A clock tells you the time in London. KT Forex Sessions MT5 tells you whether London is open, how far it has moved, and when the next session starts, all on the chart you already trade.
