Artemis US30 Opening Bell EA is a focused Expert Advisor for the US30/Dow Jones opening session. It is built around the New York opening range, one of the most active and emotional periods of the trading day.

The goal of this EA is simple: bring discipline to the opening bell. Instead of reacting manually to fast candles, wide spreads, fakeouts or news shocks, Artemis follows a defined session process. It waits for the open, builds the range, monitors the breakout, applies protection rules and manages the trade through a professional on-chart dashboard.

This is not a generic multi-symbol grid robot. It is a specialist US30 opening-session system with a clear workflow and a premium control panel.

Why traders need this EA

The US30 open can move quickly. Many traders know the opportunity is there, but the difficult part is staying disciplined. It is easy to enter too early, chase a breakout, trade directly into high-impact USD news or keep trading after the session has already gone wrong.

Artemis US30 Opening Bell EA is designed to reduce that chaos. It gives the trader a structured ORB model, live session status, API news awareness, drawdown visibility, trade-progress tracking and optional delayed post-news entry logic.

The result is not just an entry robot. It is a complete operating deck for the US30 opening bell.

How the strategy works

The EA waits for the configured New York open time and builds the opening range over the selected period. Once the range is complete, it marks the ORB high, low and midpoint on the chart, then arms the breakout model.

The default entry mode is Direct Breakout, which preserves the original fast opening-range behaviour. For traders who prefer more confirmation, an optional Pullback / Retest Mode is also included. This allows the EA to wait for price to retest the breakout area before entering, but it is disabled by default.

This release uses a virtual OCO trigger model. The EA does not place broker-side pending orders by default. It monitors the breakout levels internally and sends a market order when the configured entry conditions are met. This keeps execution flexible and avoids broker-side pending-order limitations.

The default settings are highly optimized for US30 on 5M charts and aimed to grow equity. However, you have full flexibiity to adjust to your style.

The default settings will trade once per day - or no trade if the risk is deemed to high. 

API News Guard

A major feature of Artemis US30 Opening Bell EA is its API-driven News Guard.

High-impact USD news can completely change the character of the US30 open. The EA can connect to an economic calendar API, filter relevant USD / United States events, display upcoming news on the dashboard and plot news markers directly on the chart.

The default provider is FMP Economic Calendar. A free FMP API key is required from the provider, and MT4 WebRequest must be enabled for:

When News Guard is enabled, the EA can block new entries before and after major news events. If the setup is incomplete, the EA can warn the user on attach and explain exactly what must be added in the MT4 terminal.

Delayed post-news entry protection

Some traders, especially those trading under prop-firm style rules, do not want entries during a major news window. Artemis includes an optional delayed-entry mechanism for that situation.

If a valid ORB breakout happens during a protected news window, the EA can queue the breakout direction instead of entering immediately. After the news lockout and delay period finish, it re-checks the setup. It only enters if price is still valid and has not moved too far beyond the trigger.

This is designed to avoid two common problems: entering during the shock event, or blindly chasing price after the move has already run too far. Users should still confirm their own firm or broker rules before relying on any configuration.

Graphite Command Deck

The EA includes a full on-chart dashboard called the Artemis Graphite Command Deck. It is designed to make the EA feel like a trading cockpit rather than a hidden black box.

The dashboard shows the current EA state, account details, day/week/month P&L, current and peak drawdown, lot size, risk basis, session quality, ORB status, News Guard status and recent trade progress. The Trade tab also tracks today’s and this week’s closed wins, losses, win rate and recent closed EA trades.

The chart can display subdued ORB levels, previous-day levels, news markers, news lockout zones and a small legend. The visual style is deliberately muted so the chart stays readable.

Risk and trade management

Artemis US30 Opening Bell EA includes flexible risk and trade-management controls without using grid or martingale logic.

Users can choose fixed lot or risk-based lot sizing, select account or equity as the risk basis, and configure stop loss, take profit, breakeven, trailing stop and optional partial close. Daily profit target protection and Loss Guard protection are also included for traders who want tighter session control.

Partial close is optional and disabled by default. Pullback / Retest Mode is also optional and disabled by default. These features are available for users who want them, but the default profile keeps the original direct breakout behaviour.

Recommended setup

This EA is designed for US30, DJ30, WS30 or similar Dow index symbols on MT4. The recommended starting chart is M5.

Before live use, confirm that the configured New York open time matches your broker server time. Also check your broker’s US30 contract size, tick value, spread and execution quality. A VPS and low-spread account are recommended for live trading.

To use API News Guard, create an FMP API key, enable MT4 WebRequest, add https://financialmodelingprep.com , enter the API key in the EA settings and enable News Guard.

WebRequest is not available in the MT4 Strategy Tester, so API news features should be checked on demo or live-market connection.
