Wolf Blackout Trader is a non-repainting trend-and-momentum indicator for MetaTrader 5. built around a dual Range Filter engine and a partial-hit take-profit ladder. Two Range Filters — Fast (Length 32, Sampling Factor 1.67) and Slow (Length 89, Sampling Factor 6.0) — run side by side to classify the active regime, color every candle by "blackout" trend tint, and gate every signal against the higher-horizon trend. On top of that engine sits a five-layer confluence scorer, a counter-trend Reversal Detector based on a short-lookback RSI, and a full-lifecycle trade visualization that draws entry, stop-loss, and five take-profit levels (0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.5%, 4.0%) on the chart for every signal. A 22-row multi-timeframe dashboard reports live state across six timeframes, and a full alert package covers every event the indicator detects.

How It Works
Dual Range Filter
The Range Filter is a smoothed mid-line that advances only when price has travelled beyond the previous filter by more than a window-averaged absolute range scaled by a sampling factor. Wolf Blackout Trader runs two filters in parallel: a Fast filter (length 32, sampling 1.67) that captures intraday momentum and a Slow filter (length 89, sampling 6.0) that trails the structural trend. Each filter draws upper and lower bands around its mid-line. Price closing above both filters with the Fast filter rising defines a bullish blackout regime; the inverse defines a bearish blackout regime. Bar tinting is driven by the active regime so the trader sees the state at a glance.
5-Tier Confluence Scoring
A raw range cross is necessary but not sufficient. Five independent confluence layers score every candidate trigger, and only triggers that meet the minimum-confluence threshold (default 3) are drawn as full signals:
- Range Trend — Fast Range Filter slope agrees with the trade direction
- RSI Side — RSI is above 50 for buys, below 50 for sells
- EMA Trend — price is above the trend EMA for buys, below for sells
- HTF EMA — price is above the higher-timeframe trend EMA for buys, below for sells
- Volume Burst — current bar volume meets or exceeds the 20-bar volume SMA
Each passing layer adds 1 point. Each layer can be disabled via inputs; disabled layers award a "free" point so the score is not artificially deflated. Labels carry star indicators showing how many layers passed (1 to 5 stars).
Reversal Detector
A dedicated counter-trend Reversal Detector runs alongside the main signal engine. A short-lookback RSI (length 28) flags exhausted moves at extreme thresholds (overbought above 78, oversold below 27). A bullish reversal fires when RSI(28) crosses up out of the oversold zone on a close-confirmed bar; a bearish reversal fires when RSI(28) crosses down out of overbought. Reversal markers are diamonds (mint for bullish, red for bearish), visually distinct from the trend-continuation BUY/SELL labels, and have their own alert channels.
Stop Loss + 5-TP Ladder
When a signal fires, the indicator immediately calculates the stop-loss and a five-rung take-profit ladder and draws them as horizontal lines extending forward across the chart. SL is set at a configurable percentage from entry (default 1.0%). TP levels are at 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.5%, and 4.0% by default — every percentage is fully configurable. Hit detection runs on every subsequent bar: when a TP is reached, the matching dashboard row gets a checkmark and the matching alert fires. Partial-hit tracking is preserved across bars — a trade that reaches TP3 then retraces still shows TP1, TP2, TP3 as hit. TP5 hit or SL hit closes the trade; the lines are removed from the chart and the performance counters update.
Multi-Timeframe Dashboard
A 22-row dashboard renders in any of six positions (Top Right, Top Left, Middle Right, Middle Left, Bottom Right, Bottom Left) at any of four sizes (Tiny, Small, Normal, Large). It reports live state across six sections: Header (brand and current symbol/timeframe), Market Context (regime, price-vs-Fast filter, price-vs-Slow filter), Multi-Timeframe Trend (regime on 5m, 15m, 30m, 1h, 4h, D1 — one row each, color-coded), Confluence (live buy and sell scores with stars and the minimum-required threshold), Active Signal (direction, bars-ago, entry, SL with percentage distance, TP1 through TP5 prices with hit checkmarks), and Performance (running W/L count, total signals, total TP hits, total SL hits).
Non-Repaint Mode
All signals are evaluated on confirmed, closed bars only. The Non-Repaint Mode input toggles strict mode on or off; with strict mode active, all triggers are evaluated against the close of the prior bar — the safest configuration for forward testing and automation. An 8-bar Signal Cooldown blocks back-to-back same-direction signals. Alerts are silenced during the initial historical replay so attaching the indicator does not flood the terminal.
Native MT4 / MT5 Alert Package
The indicator fires eight distinct alert events: BUY signal (with "STRONG" prefix when the confluence score is 5), SELL signal (same), TP1 Hit, TP2 Hit, TP3 Hit, TP4 Hit, TP5 Hit, and SL Hit. The reversal detector draws diamond markers on chart but does not fire its own alert. Each event is routed through four native MetaTrader channels selectable via inputs: pop-up Alert() , sound (configurable .wav , default alert2.wav ), mobile push notification via SendNotification() (requires MetaQuotes ID set in Tools > Options > Notifications), and email via SendMail() (requires SMTP set in Tools > Options > Email). Each alert message carries the symbol, timeframe, entry, SL, all five TPs and the confluence score. Alerts are silenced during the initial historical replay so attaching the indicator does not flood the terminal.

Best Markets and Timeframes
Wolf Blackout Trader is symbol-agnostic and works on every instrument: forex majors and exotics, precious metals (gold, silver, platinum), commodities (WTI, Brent, natural gas), indices (SPX, NASDAQ, DAX, FTSE), individual stocks, and crypto pairs. The dual-range engine self-scales to each instrument's natural volatility because the range envelopes are built from recent absolute price change. Recommended timeframes for higher signal quality: H1 and H4 for swing entries, D1 for higher-conviction setups. The indicator also performs on M5 and M15 for active scalping; on the lowest timeframes raise the minimum-confluence threshold to 4 and rely on the Strong Signal alert channel only.
