Indicator Signal Alerts Kb watches an indicator and alerts you when it gives a Buy or a Sell signal: a pop-up window, a push notification to your phone and e-mail. Start with a ready setup for a built-in MetaTrader 5 indicator or connect the indicator you already use; up to four more indicators can confirm each signal as filters. No programming.
Start with a ready setup
The first line of the inputs is Ready setup. Choose a setup from the list below and press OK: the indicator, the rules and the filters are set, and you get an alert with the next signal.
- 1. Alligator + EMA 200 trend, H4 (EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, XAUUSD)
- 2. Awesome Oscillator + EMA 200 trend, H4 (EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, XAUUSD)
- 3. Stochastic cross in the zone + EMA 200 trend, H4 (EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, XAUUSD)
- 4. MACD + EMA 200 trend, H4 (EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, XAUUSD)
- 5. Fractals + EMA 200 trend, H4 (XAUUSD)
- 6. Heiken Ashi colour change + trailing stop, H4 (EURUSD, GBPUSD)
Your own indicator in four steps
- Set Ready setup to Custom, attach the program to a chart and enter the indicator's name as it appears in the MQL5\Indicators folder, for example Examples\Fractals, and its inputs as a comma-separated list or nothing for its defaults.
- Read the panel on the chart: it shows what every buffer of the indicator holds - arrows, a line or a colour index - so you see which buffer carries the signal without reading any code.
- For Buy and for Sell choose the rule - an arrow appears, a buffer crosses a level, one buffer crosses another, or a colour changes - and the buffer number from the panel.
- Choose pop-up, push notification or e-mail, then press OK.
Example
Signals of the built-in MACD only in the direction of the H4 trend: leave the indicator name empty and in Filter 1 enter Examples\Custom Moving Average with the inputs 200,0,1 and the timeframe H4, then "Allow Buy only when: Close price is above the buffer" and "Allow Sell only when: Close price is below the buffer". A signal the filter rejects is ignored, and the panel says which filter rejected it and what it saw.
Alerts
Signals are read from the closed bar, so an alert does not disappear when the bar is redrawn. The Last signal line on the panel shows the latest signal or which filter blocked it, and setup mistakes such as a wrong indicator name are shown on the panel in red with what to correct. The panel can be dark or light.
Limitations
The indicator must keep its signals in indicator buffers: indicators that only draw objects on the chart cannot be read. The program uses the signals of your indicator as they are and does not make an indicator profitable; check your settings in the Strategy Tester first.
