Volatility SL TP is an on-chart indicator for MetaTrader 5 that uses current market volatility to calculate and display possible Stop Loss and Take Profit levels directly on the chart. By clicking a candle, the indicator shows the Entry price, Stop Loss, Take Profit, and a risk-based lot size calculation in a clear visual format.

1. How it works

The Entry price is taken from the selected candle close or from the current live candle price, depending on where the projection is created. The indicator reads current market volatility and calculates the displayed Stop Loss and Take Profit levels according to the selected multiplier settings. Clicking the same candle again switches the projection direction, while clicking elsewhere on the chart clears the view.

2. Risk and volatility settings

The Take Profit Multiplier and Stop Loss Multiplier can be adjusted to shape the displayed risk-to-reward structure. For example, if the Stop Loss Multiplier is set to 2 and the Take Profit Multiplier is set to 4, the displayed structure reflects a 1:2 risk-to-reward ratio. In normal market conditions, a 2.0 to 2.5 multiplier can be used as a starting point for Stop Loss planning.

The indicator also includes an optional volatility average mode. When this mode is enabled, Stop Loss and Take Profit levels are calculated using an average volatility value over a user-defined number of bars. For example, 200 bars can be used for a broader and smoother volatility reference.

3. Lot size and chart usage

Lot size calculation is based on account balance, account currency, selected risk mode, and risk value. The lot size can be calculated using percentage risk or fixed money risk. Supported account currencies include USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, JPY, CHF, and SGD.

Volatility SL TP can be used on closed candles and on the current live candle. It can also be used for manual strategy backtesting by clicking on past candles and checking how the projection would have looked under the market conditions at that time.

4. Additional information

The indicator can be used on Forex, indices, commodities, and stocks, depending on the symbols provided by the broker. For Forex symbols, distance is displayed in pips. For non-Forex symbols, distance is displayed in points.

Main settings include Take Profit Multiplier, Stop Loss Multiplier, volatility average mode, volatility average bars, risk mode, risk value, trade information position, font size, and Entry, Stop Loss, and Take Profit colors. These settings allow the visual display and calculation method to be adjusted directly from the indicator inputs.

Important note: this indicator does not open, manage, or close trades. It only displays chart information and calculation levels. The indicator can be used on any chart timeframe, but M5 and higher timeframes are recommended.
