ADR Day Range MT5 is an on-chart indicator for MetaTrader 5 that displays Average Daily Range information in a clear format. It helps traders evaluate the current daily range and the remaining distance to the calculated ADR level directly on the chart.
1. What the indicator shows
The indicator shows ADR(N), which represents the average daily range based on previous completed daily candles. It also displays Today, which represents the current day range from High to Low in points. Room Up shows the remaining upside distance to ADR from the current price, while Room Down shows the remaining downside distance to ADR from the current price.
2. ADR status and chart display
The ADR status is displayed as ADR NOT REACHED when the current day range is still below the calculated ADR value. When the current day range reaches or exceeds the ADR value, the status changes to ADR REACHED. The status is displayed with color indication for easier visual recognition.
ADR Day Range MT5 works directly on the chart without using a separate indicator window. The indicator displays values in points and updates Room Up and Room Down in real time according to the current price and current daily range. Position, colors, and font size can be adjusted from the input settings.
3. Alerts and supported markets
Alerts can be enabled when ADR is reached. The available alert options include popup alert, sound alert, email notification, and push notification. Email and push notifications require the corresponding MetaTrader 5 settings to be configured in the terminal.
The indicator can be used on Forex, indices, commodities, and stocks, depending on the symbols provided by the broker. It supports most broker-provided symbols, including symbols with prefixes or suffixes.
4. Additional information
ADR Day Range MT5 includes an optional Sunday data filtering setting and can be used on all chart timeframes. Main settings include ADR period, Sunday data filter, alert options, dashboard position, font size, and display colors. The default ADR period is 20, and ADR is calculated using completed daily candles.
The indicator can be used to monitor daily volatility conditions, identify when the market has reached its typical daily range, evaluate remaining movement distance, and support manual chart analysis.
Important note: this indicator does not open, manage, or close trades. It only displays ADR-related information on the chart.
