Spread Control is a compact indicator for MetaTrader 5 that allows you to monitor the current spread and its dynamics directly on the instrument chart.
Features
- Real-time spread monitoring
- Spread change chart with a history of recent values
- Calculation of LOW / AVG / HIGH for the displayed period
- Spread status color indication:
- normal level;
- warning level;
- critical level
- Visual scale of the current spread value
- Display of current Bid and Ask
- Market activity indicator:
- LIVE — quotes are changing;
- OFFLINE — Bid and Ask have not changed for the specified period
- Display of the current symbol and timeframe

Settings
Position X — initial horizontal position of the panel.
Position Y — initial vertical position of the panel.
Refresh Interval — interface refresh frequency.
Spread Sampling Interval — interval for recording spread values into history.
Spread History Size — number of spread values stored in history.
Warning Spread — spread level considered elevated.
Critical Spread — critical spread level.
Market Inactivity Timeout — time without Bid/Ask changes after which the market is shown as OFFLINE.
Status Indicator Blink Interval — blinking speed of the market activity indicator.
When Spread Control Can Be Useful
The indicator can be especially useful:
- during high volatility;
- before opening a trade;
- when trading during news releases;
- during trading session transitions;
- on instruments with floating spreads;
- when comparing trading conditions across different symbols;
- for visual monitoring of current quote quality.
