A structure-based pending-order Expert Advisor for gold (XAUUSD) on MetaTrader 5, with a built-in news pause, weekend protection and a live control panel.

BKT HunterX EA turns market swing structure into a clear set of rules for gold traders on MetaTrader 5. Instead of chasing price, it works through pending orders placed at levels derived from its own swing analysis, and every order carries a fixed stop loss from the start. It does not use martingale, averaging down or recovery grids. Around the trading logic sits a layer of safeguards and visibility, including a news pause, a weekend guard, spread and margin checks, and a panel that shows what the EA is doing and why it is not trading.

 

Overview

The EA reads market structure from closed bars only, so entries are not based on a candle that is still forming. When its swing analysis finds a valid setup, it places a pending order at a level derived from that structure, shifted by an entry offset that you control. Each order has a fixed stop loss and take profit, and open positions can be managed by a trailing stop.

Pending orders are not left in the market indefinitely. Each one has a configurable lifetime, and optional rules let the EA remove or replace orders that no longer match the current structure. The EA also limits repeated entries within the same market move, so one swing does not produce a string of similar trades. An optional ladder mode spreads a signal across several orders at a spacing you choose. Because these behaviors are inputs, you can study the EA in the Strategy Tester and adapt it to your broker and risk profile.

 

Key Features

  • Built-in swing analysis: calculated inside the EA on closed bars, with no indicator handles and no extra files.
  • Flexible lot sizing: a fixed lot, or a lot calculated from an equity percentage and the stop loss distance.
  • Cost and margin safeguards: a spread limit that you set, and a margin check before every order.
  • News pause: uses the MetaTrader 5 Economic Calendar to pause new orders around releases of the currencies and importance you choose, and removes unfilled pending orders. It works on live accounts only, as the calendar is not available in the Strategy Tester.
  • Weekend protection: no new orders from a Friday time you set, with optional deletion of pending orders and closing of positions.
  • Optional order ladder and order rules: several stop orders per signal, and rules to remove opposite pending orders or replace unfilled ones when the structure changes.
  • Control panel: shows status, equity, positions, spread and warnings, with a button to stop and resume new entries.

 

How It Works

Before each order the EA confirms that trading is allowed, the market is open, the spread is acceptable, no pause is active and margin is sufficient. The order is checked with the platform before it is sent, respects the minimum stop distance and freeze level of the broker, and is retried a few times if the broker rejects it. The panel shows the current status, including a blinking NEWS PAUSE during a news pause, and the state of the stop button is kept after a terminal restart.

 

Recommended Settings

The EA is designed for XAUUSD quoted with two digits. All distances are in points, so review them if your symbol has a different number of digits. A hedging account and enabled algorithmic trading are required, and a VPS is recommended for continuous operation. Run the EA in the Strategy Tester and on a demo account with your own broker before using real funds.

  • Pivot confirmation bars - Optional number of closed bars a swing must hold before use (0 = off)
  • Entry offset - Distance of the order from the structural level, in points
  • Pause after a sell deal - Pause before new orders, in seconds
  • Pending order lifetime - In hours (0 = none)

  • Calculate lot from risk - Use a percentage of equity
  • Risk per trade - Percentage of equity
  • Fixed lot size - Lot used when risk-based sizing is off
  • Maximum spread - In points (0 = no limit)
  • Stop loss and take profit - In points
  • Trailing start, distance and step - In points

Weekend protection

  • Enable weekend protection - On or off
  • Friday close time - Server time
  • Delete pending orders and close open positions - On or off

News filter

  • Enable news filter - Live trading only
  • Currencies to watch - Comma separated codes
  • News importance - High, Medium or Low and above
  • Pause before and after the news - In minutes

Order management

  • Orders per signal - From 1 to 10
  • Distance between orders - In points
  • Delete opposite pending orders - On or off
  • Replace unfilled pending orders - On or off
  • Minimum entry change to replace - In points
  • Magic number - Identifies the orders of this EA

 

Important

A hedging account is required, and the EA stops at start-up on a netting account. An order ladder increases exposure in proportion to the number of orders. Trading leveraged instruments involves a risk of loss, and Strategy Tester results can differ from live trading.
