In a world of lies and shiny names, I want to give a little light—a small light in the darkness. I want to show that a real robust bot doesn't have to cost thousands, but in fact can be found in the free section. XAUUSD 5 Minute is not my best project, but it is reliable, and simple. It might not make millions, but has a real edge. No promises, no "Future-AI-never-losing system"—but a real Expert Advisor.

Strategy

EA is based on entry and exit signals generated by multiple systems, in other words bot is fully automated and manual overlook is to necessary. Due to this logic, TP is not used at all and SL is in place only as a safety net, since trades are usually closed before hitting it. SL is triggera only when market conditions shift significantly. Each system uses mean reversion strategy, what can sometimes result in similar entries. Goal is to spread the risk acrossm multiple systems, so that even if one struggles, others compensate and outweight a potential loss. 


Settings

You likely noticed that in the settings you will only find lot size and risk per trade with an enable toggle. Unfortunately, people could misuse the fact that this EA is free by renaming it and reselling it outside of MQL5. For this reason, I decided to leave only these necessary settings available, so that people don't mistreat my efforts and openness.

However, if you really like XAUUSD 5 Minute and would want something in that direction with customizable settings and better results, there is another EA called XAU Master. The trading approach is similar to XAUUSD 5 Minute—the only differences are better diversification, improved performance, new systems, adjustable inputs, prop firm spoofing, and better risk control. This EA is paid, but if XAUUSD 5 Minute suits your needs, then taking a look at it wouldn't be a bad idea.


Why M15 when name says M5?

Original version of XAUUSD 5 Minute EA was for M5 timeframe, however using M15 provides clearer signals and less noise, therefore newer versions are using M15 which might have caused confusion. Please make sure to attach the EA to M15 timeframe.

Hi Johs, the EA closes trades automatically. SL is far but that doesnt mean loosing trades are exited only with SL - EA oftne times closes them before hitting it.

Hi, if you are using the sae settings on both demo and live the reason could be that you turned on the EA at little bit different times, meaning out of those 4 trades only one was "caught" on the other account. Please send me a private message with more details,I will check if everything is ok.

Hello, I have been using your robot for the past two weeks. My account was a $10,000 demo account, and during this period I made approximately $1,500 profit using your EA. Throughout these two weeks, I was constantly monitoring the charts and manually closing trades whenever they were in profit. However, today I was away from the charts, and two trades were opened about 20 minutes apart. Unfortunately, both trades eventually hit their stop loss, resulting in a total loss of around $3,000. Could you please explain the profit-taking strategy of your EA? Specifically, I would like to understand how and when the system is designed to close trades in profit, and whether manual intervention is recommended or if the EA is intended to manage exits automatically. Hello Davood Omidian, thank you for sharing your experience. XAUUSD 5 Minute has its own exit signal which does not watch the profit/loss, meaning a loss can turn into a profit before losing, and simutlaneously a profit into a loss. The exact logic is not for public sharing. Manual intervention can be both negative and positive, but I recommend keeping the EA run on its own and possibly turn it off when bigger losses start to occur (as we could see recently). You also mentioned that you have been running the bot only for 2 weeks My recommendation is to keep running it longer.

Hello Amarit2519. First of all, thank you very much for taking the effort to write this detailed review. I want to deliver true real value even for free and if someone values it, they can purchase any of my paid EAs to support me and recieve even more value. Regarding the issues you noticed, I agree with you and a sideways market can really hurt the EA without enough volatility - every EA has a weakness. I tried before to protect the EA from such scenarios but algorythmic change made the overall results worse. In other words occasional manual overlook can be very beneficial while tighter hard stops make the results worse. For smaller traders, the minimal account size is 1k, but you can use a cent acccount as well with minmum deposit 1000 cents ($10). Amarit2519, thank you again for your review.

Hi sir, im using this EA and helped me pass phase 1 challenge, im using the v7.0 so then the 7.2 comes out so i decided to update it now im not sure if they work similar but can i ask for the 7.0 version? i want to use it back since i noticed before on 7.0 version, when the EA IS not sure of the direction it will just put 1 trade then when its sure it will add 4 more so it gained more profits, but now on 7.2 using the 15m tf, i think the logic is kind of late since if it placed 1 trade it wins then when its time to place more like it will add 4 more now it was SL. Though i just newly updated it thats what i observed so if you can give me the 7.0 version for me to return to it Thanks

I have a very positive view of this XAUUSD 15-minute strategy, but I noticed something interesting. Throughout April 2026 and almost until the end of May, nearly all SELL trades were profitable, while nearly all BUY trades resulted in losses. After a while, I started manually closing BUY trades, and that significantly increased my profits. Gold was mostly trading sideways during those months. I have a question for the author: are the conditions for the algorithm to take BUY and SELL positions similar or completely different? I also want to ask if, were I to opt for the paid version, it would be possible to configure it so that it behaves identically to the free version but offers more control.

Hi, I am using this EA on a demo account of $1000 from past 5 days, and till now it is at +$400 profit. Overall, I like this EA very much. But is there any way to add a trailing SL to it? Because the SL placed on the swing high/low are very wide, and sometimes profitable trades get closed into a loss because of this wide SL. Also, did you publish the source code under the codebase??

Hi Mayur Bendale, thank you for your nice review. Seeing 40% profit in only 5 days is really incredible, but please keep in mind that same goes for the opposite side and that the profit carries big risk as well. If you are comfortable with higher risk, then no problem at all, but please keep that in mind. The source code is not available, but regarding your observation, I already tried putting in a max distance for SL and even trailing SL however results were better without it.

Hello Internally, XAUUSD 5 Minute does not use hedging or martingale, but it uses same comments and magic numbers, meaning a prop firm would flag it in case anyone else used the same EA. I would recomemnd you to check my other EA XAU Master which allows to use prop firm features and change settings keeping you safe.
