The indicator normally updates smoothly, so this issue may be related to broker data loading, especially when higher timeframe history is not fully loaded in MT5. Sometimes Weekly or higher timeframe data does not load properly at first, and because of that the MTF volume profile can appear incorrect or unchanged on the current chart. Please send us a screenshot or short video of the exact issue you are facing, along with your broker name, symbol, chart timeframe, and selected MTF setting.
