How I work:
1. I turn your idea into a short written spec, and you approve it before I start. - Version: 1.1
Bastion Daily Guard protects your account from the bad day. You set two limits, the maximum number of trades per day and the maximum daily drawdown, and Daily Guard makes sure you respect them on the whole account until the next daily reset.
How it works
- Set the maximum trades per day and the maximum daily drawdown %, then press OK to arm the defense
- The daily drawdown includes closed trades and the floating profit and loss of open positions
- Deposits and withdrawals are not counted as profit or loss
- The limits apply to every symbol of the account and to every trade, also when you open it from the phone or from another EA
- Only trades opened today use today's slots: positions kept from the previous day do not count
When a limit is reached
- The account is locked until the daily reset
- Every new trade opened during the lock is closed immediately, and every new pending order is deleted
- The trade that reaches exactly the limit stays open, and so do the trades you already had: you keep managing them
- Closing a trade does not free a slot: trades are counted when they open
- Push notification to your phone and sound alert when the lock starts
No switching off in the middle of the day
The defense stays active every day with the same limits. You can change the limits or switch it off only before your first trade of the day, so the decision is taken with a clear head and not right after a loss. After the first trade it is locked until the next reset.
Daily reset
By default the day restarts at midnight of your computer's time zone, detected automatically. You can also choose Central Europe, London, New York, Tokyo, Sydney, UTC or the broker server time. Daylight saving time is applied automatically.
Panel
A small panel with the DEFENSE status bar: trades used, daily drawdown and a progress bar that turns amber from 80% of a limit and red when the account is locked. It can be minimized to the status bar only. The settings are saved per account, so every chart on the same account shares the same defense.
Main inputs
- Max trades per day and Max daily drawdown %: default values for the panel
- Daily reset at midnight of: your computer's time zone (default) or a market time zone
- Push notification and Sound alert
- Panel position on the chart
Full version
Daily Guard is the free part of the Defense of Trade Manager Bastion. The full version adds a daily risk budget, a maximum number of losing trades, a pause after a loss, a maximum total loss with a permanent lock, automatic closing of all positions at the daily drawdown or total loss limit, and a complete trade panel with risk-based lot size, Stop Loss and Take Profit lines, breakeven, partial close and trailing stop.
Notes
- Enable Algo Trading in MetaTrader 5: Daily Guard needs it to close the trades opened during a lock.
- Prop firms calculate their limits in different ways: set your limits a little tighter than the ones of your prop firm.
- Try it first on a demo account.
- Push notifications need your MetaQuotes ID in Tools > Options > Notifications.
