SuperTrend Shield
SuperTrend Shield is a clean, chart-based SuperTrend indicator for MetaTrader 5, designed to help traders identify trend direction, possible entries, and dynamic stop-loss areas with greater clarity.
The indicator plots continuous SuperTrend up/down lines directly on the chart and includes a floating multi-timeframe dashboard. The dashboard shows the SuperTrend signal and stop-loss level for selected higher timeframes, making it easier to confirm whether the current chart trend is aligned with broader market direction.
SuperTrend Shield can be especially useful for scalping on Forex instruments, where fast trend confirmation and disciplined exits are important.
Key Features
- Continuous SuperTrend up/down trend lines
- BUY and SELL signal arrows
- Floating higher-timeframe dashboard
- Dashboard signals shown clearly in green/red
- Stop-loss level shown for each selected timeframe
- Optional backtest vertical line for reviewing historical signals
- Multiple dashboard color themes
- Adjustable ATR period, multiplier, source price, alerts, and signal display
Suggested Scalping Setup
For scalping, one practical setup is:
- Chart timeframe: 1 minute
- HTF1: 3 minutes
- HTF2: 6 minutes
- HTF3: 12 minutes
This setup allows the trader to watch the fast current timeframe while confirming the direction using slightly higher timeframes.
Example Entry Strategy
A simple confirmation-based approach is to wait until the current timeframe signal and all selected HTF dashboard signals are aligned.
For example:
- Current timeframe: BUY
- HTF1: BUY
- HTF2: BUY
- HTF3: BUY
When all signals align, a trader may consider placing a trade according to their own risk appetite and money management rules. A common target style is to aim for approximately 2x reward compared to the planned risk.
Example Exit Strategy
A conservative exit approach is to close the trade when any selected higher-timeframe signal no longer aligns with the trade direction.
For example, if you are in a BUY trade and one HTF dashboard signal changes to SELL, this can be used as an early warning to exit or manage the position.
Important
SuperTrend Shield is a technical analysis tool. It does not guarantee profitable trades. Always use proper risk management, test your strategy, and trade according to your own plan.
