KS VWAP and Pivot Pro indicator — Traditional + Pivot Modes
Overview
This is a dual-mode Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) indicator for MetaTrader 5. It combines two popular ways of using VWAP:
- Traditional VWAP — Classic curved VWAP that updates bar-by-bar
- Pivot VWAP — Horizontal (flat) VWAP lines calculated from the start of the current day
Both modes can be enabled/disabled independently.
Key Features
1. Dual Calculation Modes
| Mode | Style | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Traditional | Curved line (bar-by-bar) | Intraday momentum, mean reversion |
| Pivot | Flat horizontal lines | Day trading, support/resistance |
2. Standard Deviation Bands
- 3 pairs of bands (Upper & Lower) around VWAP
- Adjustable multipliers: 1.0x, 2.0x, 3.0x (default)
- Two calculation modes:
- Standard Deviation (statistical)
- Percentage of VWAP
3. Traditional Mode (Curved VWAP)
- Plots classic VWAP that develops throughout the session
- Resets automatically at the start of each new day
- Includes up to 6 bands (3 upper + 3 lower)
- Fully customizable colors, width, and style
4. Pivot Mode (Horizontal VWAP)
- Draws flat horizontal lines from the day start to current time
- Very clean for identifying daily value areas
- Includes price labels on the right side (customizable)
- Great for day traders as reference levels
5. Customization Options
- Independent enabling of Traditional vs Pivot modes
- Separate color, width, and style settings for each mode
- Show/hide individual bands
- Hide on Daily/Weekly/Monthly timeframes
- Bar offset
- Label font size and shift
Practical Uses
- Day Traders: Use Pivot mode for clean daily VWAP levels + bands as support/resistance
- Scalpers: Use Traditional mode to see how price reacts to the developing VWAP
- Mean Reversion: Bands act as dynamic overbought/oversold levels
- Institutional Reference: VWAP is widely used by institutions — this gives you both real-time and session-based views
