Unlike generic economic calendars or unprocessed RSS feeds, Exobeacon Telemetry interprets the content of news and converts it into actionable quantitative signals.
Coverage
Forex (8 currencies, forming 28 pairs): USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, NZD
Indices (5): DAX 40, S&P 500, NASDAQ-100, Dow Jones 30, Russell 2000
Commodities (5): Gold, Silver, WTI Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Copper
The EA automatically detects the chart symbol and correctly maps to its corresponding sentiment, including non-standard broker naming conventions (DE40, GER40, GOLD#, XAUUSD.sml, US500Cash, etc.).
What it shows
"Telemetry status" panel:
- Connection status with the backend
- Detected symbol and associated ticker(s)
- Sentiment score of the base asset
- Confidence score
- "Actionable" score (combination of sentiment + confidence)
- Age of the latest snapshot
"Latest narratives" panel:
- Up to 3 summarized narratives per ticker, generated from the analysis of relevant news
- Headline of the primary article that contributed to the score
- Source domain (informational: bloomberg.com, reuters.com, etc.)
Bottom subwindow:
- Histogram of S_pair (sentiment score of the pair/asset) — green for positive, red for negative, gray when confidence is below threshold
- Aqua line: actionable signal (S × C)
- Yellow dashed line: scaled confidence
Available fusion methods
The product includes 3 methods for combining signals over time:
-
EMA Evidence-Weighted (default): weights new observations by their confidence. Balance between smoothness and reactivity.
-
Kalman Filter: Bayesian filtering. Smoother than EMA, better for noisy signals.
-
Vector Superposition: each piece of news is modeled as an independent vector that decays over time. The aggregate signal is the superposition of all live vectors. Offers better temporal resolution of individual events.
The selected method persists across timeframe changes and between symbols.
Optional automated trading
By default, the EA operates in visualization-only mode (does not send orders). If you want to enable automated trading:
- Activate InpEnableTrading
- Configure lot size, SL/TP in pips
- Signals are filtered with an EMA crossover (8/21 by default, configurable)
- Unique magic number to avoid interference with other EAs
Recommendation: test first on a demo account to understand the system's behavior before trading live.
Technical features
- Subwindow stays active even if the chart is not within product coverage
- Configuration persists across timeframe and symbol changes
- Automatic detection of market gaps (weekends, holidays)
- Historical backfill from local CSV: past bars are filled with historical signal on load
- Symbols with expiration (futures like GER40-JUN26 ) automatically map to the underlying asset
- Override inputs per instrument for brokers with exotic naming
- Optional push notifications to MetaTrader Mobile on strong sentiment changes
Requirements
- MetaTrader 5 (recent build)
- Active internet connection
- Whitelisting of https://api.exobeacon.comin Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow WebRequest for listed URL
- Linked MQL5.com account (standard for Market products)
How it works
- Attach the EA to a chart of any covered symbol
- The EA automatically detects the asset and polls the backend every 60 seconds
- Snapshots are saved locally and processed according to the selected fusion method
- The subwindow histogram updates with the processed signal
- Panels display status and the most recent narratives
Important
This product is an information tool, not a guaranteed automated trading strategy. News-derived sentiment analysis does not predict market movements deterministically. It is an additional input for your analysis, not a substitute for trader judgment.
The backend processes English-language news from institutional sources (Fed, ECB, BoE, BoJ, Treasury, BLS, BIS, IMF, etc.), mainstream sources (Bloomberg, WSJ, FT, NYT, BBC, Guardian, CNBC, MarketWatch, Politico, Axios), and selected regional sources. Scoring quality depends on the quality of published news and on the model's analysis. Calm market periods or absence of relevant events may produce scores close to zero.
Support and feedback
This is the initial version of the product, published free of charge to gather feedback from the trader community. Any bug reports, improvement suggestions, or requests for additional coverage are welcome.
For support: use the comment section of the product on MQL5 Market.
