SomaNews

SomaNews is a free MetaTrader 5 utility that sends mobile push notifications before major US news events used by the Soma breakout EAs: Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP), Fed interest rate decisions, and CPI.

Free for all traders using Soma EAs or anyone who wants reliable US news reminders.

Attach SomaNews to any chart. It loads upcoming events from the built-in MT5 economic calendar (language-independent matching) and falls back to an embedded schedule if the calendar is unavailable. Notifications are sent only after the calendar attempt finishes, so you never get alerts from stale hard-coded data while live data is still loading.

What it does

  • Mobile push alerts via the official MetaTrader 5 app (MetaQuotes ID required)
  • Configurable lead time — hours and minutes before each event
  • Enable or disable NFP, Fed rate, and CPI independently
  • On-chart dashboard with next event per type and countdown
  • Smart calendar search — stops as soon as the next event of each enabled type is found (up to 90 days ahead)
  • Automatically refreshes after an event passes to find the next occurrence
  • Works with any MT5 terminal language (calendar event codes are language-independent)

Setup

  1. Install the MetaTrader 5 mobile app and link your MetaQuotes ID in Tools → Options → Notifications.
  2. Attach SomaNews to any chart and enable the news types you want.
  3. Set HoursBefore / MinutesBefore to control how early the push is sent.
