Gold Reaper X PRO

Gold Reaper X PRO is an automated Expert Advisor for trading XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5. It uses an H1 EMA trend filter to set the trade direction, then looks for M5 pullback entries using Bollinger Bands and RSI. Trade management includes ATR-based recovery, basket drawdown protection, profit trailing, session and cooldown controls, and balance-based lot sizing. Version 1.35 adds Defensive Grid Control, an optional ATR volatility filter, and an updated dashboard. A baseline configuration is included, so no external .set file is required.

Risk management

Defensive Grid Control (default 4.5%) stops the EA from opening new recovery layers once the active basket reaches that drawdown level; existing trades continue to be managed. BasketDD_StopPct (reference 10%) requests closure of the basket at its own threshold. Both are management controls, not guaranteed loss limits. An optional ATR filter can block new entries during high volatility, and a spread filter blocks entries above a set maximum spread.

Installation

Attach to an XAUUSD M5 chart, enable Algo Trading, and let the EA initialize with its baseline settings. Check your broker's spread format in Market Watch and set Max Spread Points accordingly. Increasing lot size, recovery layers, or the recovery multiplier increases exposure and drawdown, so review these before trading live.

Backtesting

Test with a balance and broker similar to your live account, over a long enough history, on XAUUSD M5. The baseline runs with the session filter on; disabling it in the Strategy Tester allows more trade opportunities outside London/New York hours but increases exposure. Historical results do not guarantee future performance — a demo forward test is recommended before going live.

Risk disclosure

This EA uses recovery-based management and may hold multiple positions at once. Trading leveraged instruments carries risk of loss. Strategy Tester results are historical simulations only; live results may differ due to spread, slippage, commissions, and execution conditions. Basket protection settings are management tools, not guaranteed maximum loss limits.

Good EA support. I have run this on Demo and Live account. Been running this for 1 weeks. It is great. Drawdown level per day is less than 10% I hope that developer can create a setting for $100-300 capital. I have tried few others EA, but their drawdown is 60-80% per day. I understand your frustration, and I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Gold Reaper X has configurable risk and recovery settings, so the results and drawdown can vary depending on the market conditions and settings used. For a more conservative approach, I recommend using the 5% Risk preset with lower recovery exposure. I strongly recommend testing the chosen settings on a demo account for at least 3 months across different market conditions before considering live trading.

Good EA support. I have run this on Demo and Live account. Been running this for 1 weeks. It is great. Drawdown level per day is less than 10% I hope that developer can create a setting for $100-300 capital. I have tried few others EA, but their drawdown is 60-80% per day. Thank you to this developer.
