Aint No Trend
Ain't No Trend is a neural advisor trained to trade with 10 symbols: AUDUSD, EURJPY, EURUSD, GBPCHF, GBPJPY, GBPUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, USDJPY, XAUUSD (or GOLD).
Before you start this advisor, make sure the symbols in the property Symbols correspond to the symbols in your terminal. If your symbols have a suffix (ex: EURUSD_i), you should rewrite all symbols accordingly. Otherwise the advisor will not work.
The advisor uses take and trail values incorporated in its body. You cannot change them because they were part of the training process. You can change the stoploss value with a property.
The advisor Ain't No Trend uses an H4 timeframe. Your timeframe does not matter, it has no impact on the advisor.
Start the advisor in one chart. Regardless of the symbol of your current chart, the advisor trades all symbols listed in the property Symbols from one chart.
You can only test 1 symbol at a time in the Strategy tester of MT4 (unlike MT5 which allows a multi-symbol test). AUDUSD or GBPUSD generate
each 10 trades or more in a year, while USDCHF and other symbols generate much fewer trades. You should remember about the multi-symbol
trading of this advisor, which is only available in the Live mode in MT4. So the 10 symbols generate together 60 trades or more in a year.
There are 2 sets for trading: _13Months and _24Months. The names correspond to the training period of neural networks of the advisor. You can download them here. The advisor defaults to the _24Months set. Which set should you prefer? The short period generates more trades, trading is more aggressive and risky. The long period generates less trades, trading is more conservative and reliable.
The advisor Ain't No Trend works with 2 indicators: MACD (18, 39, 14, Median Price) and RSI (21, Median Price). There are 3 types of trades: a crossing of zero line in MACD chart (comment "c"), a double crossing of zero line in MACD chart (comment "cc") and a rollback from a bar peak in MACD chart (comment "r"). The 3 neural networks were trained so that they filter possible trades according to visually important indicator properties (crossings, number of peaks) and a ratio of current values to maximum values found in the history.
Properties of the Advisor
Fontsize - set a smaller value if the textual strings get off the advisor panel.
Push notifications - notifications about new trades to be sent the MT4 application on your smartphone. Check the MT4 user manual on how to set up.
Close anytime profit (%) - closes a positive profit of one trade. The value is a percentage from the current balance. A trade
whose current positive profit reaches the value is closed immediately.
Close losing trades (days) - closes losing trades. The value is a number of days after which this trade is yet not profitable.
There should be at least 2 current trades so that one is losing and the other is winning and their common profit is a positive value. The idea is
to close losing trades and compensate them immediately with winning trades.
Hard close - closes a losing trade after a reverse crossing of zero line in MACD chart (trades "c" and "cc"), after a reverse
crossing of bars by signal line (trades "r") or if the price goes over/below the peak bar price (trades "r").
Soft close - closes a winning trade after a certain number of crossings in MACD chart.
Stoploss XAUUSD (GOLD)
Symbols - regardless of the symbol of your current chart, the advisor always trades all symbols listed in this property from one
chart. Do not forget to rewrite your symbols according to the symbols in your terminal (ex: add a suffix).
Training period - short means aggressive, long means conservative.
Volume - volume for one trade. Set a fixed value (ex: 0.01) or a percentage of equity (ex: 0.02%). The advisor prints the actual
value of volume in the "Experts" tab upon start or restart. Always use a fixed value for cent accounts or accounts denominated in bitcoins,
roubles, yuans etc (that is, not in USD).
2. I added push notifications to be activated with a property "Push notifcations". Check MT4 manual to properly set it up.
