Breakout signals on Gold (XAUUSD) with the complete trade plan on the chart and statistics you can check candle by candle.
Gold Treasure Map is a signal indicator for XAUUSD on the M5 chart. It marks the price levels that Gold has respected, draws them on the chart before the price gets there, and gives a signal when one of them breaks in the direction of the H1 trend. Every signal comes with its plan: entry, stop loss, first take profit, main take profit and a continuation target. Signals do not repaint: once a signal appears, it stays.
All my products are listed in my MQL5 profile.
The statistics panel shows how the past signals would have ended with the plan you have chosen. The figures are calculated on the candle highs and lows, with the spread included, and when the stop loss and the take profit are touched in the same candle the signal counts as a loss. Change the targets in the inputs and the panel recalculates every past signal with the new plan.
What you see on the chart
- The map — the next buy level and the next sell level, drawn ahead of the price with the name of the level they come from.
- The signal — an arrow on the candle that breaks the level, with the entry price and the stop loss.
- The plan — the risk zone, the profit zone and three lines: first take profit, main take profit and continuation target.
- The result — each past signal keeps its label with the result in R, so you can review the history on the chart.
- The panel — the statistics of the selected period for the three targets, and the progress of the active setup.
How the signals are found
- Levels — the highs and lows of the last hours, days and weeks on the H1 and D1 charts, kept only while the price has not reached them. Each level gives one signal at most.
- Trend — by default the indicator only signals breakouts in the direction of the H1 trend (100-period average). Signals against the trend can be enabled with Only signals in the direction of the H1 trend.
- Entry — with "At the level (stop entry)" the signal appears when the price touches the level, like a pending stop order placed just before it. With "On the candle close" it waits for a 5-minute candle to close beyond the level.
- Plan — the stop loss is a percentage of the entry price (1.0% by default) and the targets are multiples of that risk: 1R, 2R and 3R by default.
Historical statistics (MetaQuotes demo data, October 2024 to October 2026, spread 0.40 included)
Standard style, default plan, calculated by the indicator on the M5 history:
- 529 signals, about 1.0 per trading day
- First take profit at 1R reached in 57% of the signals · profit factor 1.37
- Main take profit at 2R reached in 48% · net result +137R · profit factor 1.55
- Continuation target at 3R reached in 45% · profit factor 1.55
These figures come from past price data and are not real trading results. They do not guarantee future performance. Your broker's spread and quotes will give slightly different figures, and the panel on your chart shows them.
Trading style
The Trading style input chooses which levels are watched, so it changes how many signals you get. Same period, same plan, main take profit at 2R:
- Selective (fewer signals) — about 0.5 signals per trading day, profit factor 1.50. Only the levels from the longest windows.
- Standard (default) — about 1.0 signals per trading day, profit factor 1.55.
- Active (most signals) — about 1.5 signals per trading day, profit factor 1.39. All the levels, including the shortest windows.
The trade plan
- Stop loss (% of the entry price) — the distance of the stop, 1.0% by default. It defines 1R for all the targets.
- First take profit (R) — the closest objective, 1R by default. A place to take a partial profit or move the stop to the entry.
- Main take profit (R) — the principal objective, 2R by default. The main line of the statistics panel uses it.
- Continuation target (R) — the objective for the signals that keep going, 3R by default.
- Give up the setup after (hours) — a signal that has not reached the stop loss or the continuation target after this time is closed in the statistics at the current price, 48 hours by default.
The indicator does not open, modify or close any trade. You decide whether to take a signal, the lot size and how to manage the position.
Statistics panel
- Statistics lookback (days) — how much history the panel evaluates, 730 days by default. A longer period gives steadier figures.
- Spread used in the statistics (points, 0 = current) — the spread applied to every past signal. By default the spread of your broker when the indicator starts.
- The panel shows how many signals reached each target, and the win rate and profit factor of the main take profit as the only exit.
- The panel also shows the number of signals, the signals per trading day, the H1 trend and the state of the active setup with its progress in R.
Alerts
A popup alert, a sound and a push notification to the MetaTrader mobile application when a new signal appears, with the entry, stop loss and targets in the message. With Also alert when TP1, TP or SL is reached the indicator also tells you when the active setup reaches a target or the stop loss. Push notifications need your MetaQuotes ID in the terminal options.
Display
- Signals drawn on the chart — how many past signals keep their plan on the chart, 80 by default. The statistics always use the whole period.
- Focus mode (only the active setup) — hides the past signals and leaves only the active one.
- Show the next breakout levels — the next buy level and the next sell level ahead of the price.
- Panel position, Panel font size and the colors of buy, sell, stop loss and take profit.
Installation and use
- Open an XAUUSD chart on M5. Any broker suffix works: XAUUSD, XAUUSD.a, GOLD...
- Attach the indicator and keep the default settings at first.
- Enable the alerts you want and wait for the next signal.
- When a signal appears, check the entry, the stop loss and the targets on the chart before trading.
Recommendations
- Use it on M5: the levels and the statistics are calibrated for that timeframe.
- Check the spread before entering. Gold spreads widen at the open and around news.
- If the price is already far from the entry when the alert arrives, wait for it to come back or skip the signal.
- Follow one plan for a series of signals before judging the results.
- Test it first on a demo account.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
There has been no signal today.
Signals need a level to break. With the Standard style there is a signal on most trading days, but not on all of them.
Why are the panel figures different from the ones in this description?
The panel uses your broker's quotes and spread and the period you set. Small differences between brokers change the timing of some signals and the figures.
Does it repaint?
No. A signal is fixed on the candle where it appeared. The result labels are written when the stop loss, the continuation target or the time limit is reached.
Can I use it on other symbols or timeframes?
It works on any chart, but the levels and the statistics are calibrated for XAUUSD on M5.
Does it work in the Strategy Tester?
Yes. Run it on XAUUSD M5 in visual mode to see the signals appear on the history.
Trading involves risk and can result in the loss of your capital. The indicator is an analysis tool and does not guarantee profits. Historical statistics are not real trading results and do not guarantee future performance.
