What it does. Account Guardian watches the equity of the whole account several times a second - positions from every EA, manual trades and pending orders on the account, on every symbol. When equity reaches one of your limits it closes every position, deletes the pending orders and keeps the account flat: until the next trading day after a daily limit, or until you reset it after a max-loss limit. It never opens a trade on a live account.
Limits (all inputs). Max loss in % of the starting balance (default 10 %, trips 1 % before the line). Daily loss in % (default 5 %, trips 1 % before the line; the day starts at the server hour you set, default 01:00, and 00:00 is sampled too, so the stricter of the two is used). Optional limits in account money. Optional ratchet: a floor that follows the high-water mark of the closed balance. Optional percent profit lock. When a money limit and a percent limit are both on, the tighter one is used.
Monitor only by default. After you attach it, it prints "WOULD TRIP" lines and closes nothing until you set Close_On_Trip = true. Read the ATTACH and CONFIG lines in the Journal first: they show the limits in money for your account.
Built for restarts. The state is saved in two places; a trip survives a terminal restart, a reconnect or a re-attach. After a max-loss or profit-lock trip the chart shows a 6-digit reset code - enter it in Reset_Code to resume. Alerts and push notifications on every trip, flat, resume, and when a close has been stuck for 60 seconds (enable notifications in MetaTrader: Tools - Options - Notifications).
Measured, not promised. On a broker demo account in MetaTrader 4 a trip closed 3 positions and deleted 2 pending orders; the account was flat 1,079 ms after the trip (one close took 292 ms), with equity 1.90 below the trip level at that moment. A terminal restart kept the trip and its reset code; a wrong code was refused. Every close request is checked before it is sent (trade session, freeze level); a refused close is retried.
MetaTrader 4 notes. Set the terminal's Account History tab to All History: after a restart the day reference and the profit high are rebuilt from it. MetaTrader 4 has one trade thread: when another EA is sending an order, the guardian waits a moment and then closes. The remainder of a partial close keeps being guarded under its new ticket.
What it cannot do. It cannot protect against a price gap (weekend open, news), slippage, a broker that rejects closes, or a terminal that is off or disconnected - run it on a VPS and keep the terminal connected. Equity can end below your limit by the size of a gap. Check your prop firm's exact rules (reference balance, daily reset time) and set the inputs to match them; this product is not affiliated with any prop firm.
Strategy Tester. The tester has no other positions to guard, so there it opens one minimum-lot demonstration trade a day and shows how the guardian trips, closes and resumes (input Tester_Demo_Trade). This happens only in the tester.
Settings in short. Attach to one chart of the account (any symbol, any timeframe). Max_Loss_Percent / Max_Loss_Buffer_Percent, Daily_Limit_Percent / Daily_Buffer_Percent, Percent_Reference_USD (0 = the balance when it first arms), Day_Reset_Server_Hour, optional Static_Floor_USD / Daily_Limit_USD / Ratchet_Gap_USD / Lock_Percent, Close_On_Trip, Reset_Code, Check_Interval_Ms (100-1000), Close_Slippage_Points, Notify_On_Trip.
