Launch price. 199 USD for the first 10 copies, then 400 USD.
What it does. The EA watches the opening range of selected H4 candles on gold. When the ask breaks above the range and holds, it opens a buy with a stop below the range. It takes part of the profit at a first target, moves the stop to break-even and trails the rest. Its main entry is long only (a secondary entry may open a short at half size; in the 2024-2026 backtests every entry was a buy). It trades a few times a month.
What it does not do. No martingale, no grid, no averaging down, no hedging, no trade without a stop loss.
Symbols. The EA runs on any symbol. On gold it limits the opening range in dollars; on any other symbol it judges the opening range against the daily ATR instead. It was designed and tested on XAUUSD only, and on other symbols our tests with the default settings lost money: EURUSD H1 (91 trades, profit factor 0.76) and US500 H4 (116 trades, profit factor 0.92), January 2025 - August 2026. If you want to use it on another symbol, test it on a demo account first. On a non-gold chart it prints a note in the Journal at start.
Before it enters, it checks: the trend and regime on higher timeframes (moving-average fan, ADX), the momentum on a lower timeframe (RSI), the structure of recent swings, and the spread. Many armed candles are skipped; that is by design. About one armed candle in five is cancelled because the bid falls back into the range after the break.
Risk. Default risk is 1.2 % of equity per trade, adjusted by volatility and by the market regime. Optional guards (all inputs, off by default): a daily loss limit in %, a daily risk budget, an absolute equity floor, and a per-trade risk cap. Prop-firm users should switch on the daily limit and the equity floor that match their firm's rules.
Account size. The position size cannot go below the broker's minimum lot (0.01). On small accounts one minimum lot already risks more than the target percentage, so the drawdown in percent is much larger: in a backtest on a $100 account the drawdown was about 30 %. Recommended: $50,000 or more. Below $10,000 most of the sizing logic has no room to work.
What to expect. This is a slow system. It earned most of its backtest profit in trending gold markets and very little in a 2020-2023-like market. Losing months are normal (about one month in three in the backtest below), and underwater periods of several months have occurred in testing.
Backtest of this exact build with its default settings, on real ticks (MetaTrader 5 "Every tick based on real ticks"; the broker's real tick history covered 99.3 % of the minutes), XAUUSD H4, 1 January 2024 - 20 August 2026, $100,000 deposit, risk 1.2 %:
| Net profit | +19,176 (+19.2 % in about 2.6 years) |
| Profit factor | 2.51 |
| Maximum equity drawdown | 2.24 % (2,275) |
| Entries | 221, all buys |
| By year | 2024: +3,824 / 2025: +13,906 / 2026 (to 20 Aug): +1,446 |
| Losing months | 11 of 32; worst month -1,305 |
| Share of net profit from the 3 best trades | 50 % |
| Longest losing streak | 9 closing deals |
This broker has no real tick history before 2024. Earlier versions of the system tested on generated ticks for 2020-2023 earned far less: the result depends on gold trending. About one armed candle in five never becomes a trade because the bid falls back into the range after the break; that is part of the rules, not a malfunction. Live spreads can be wider than in historical tick data, which reduces the number of entries.
All figures above come from backtests. Backtests are not real trading results, and past results do not guarantee future results.
Settings. Attach to XAUUSD (or your broker's gold symbol) on any chart timeframe; the EA works with H4 candles internally. Its candle hours are the broker's server hours and were set for GMT+2/+3 servers (New York close); the EA checks the server time and warns in the Journal if it differs. Recommended: a VPS and a hedging account (the account the EA was tested on).
