Assist Your Manual Trades: Trade From Your Phone, Managed on Your Terminal
Open the trade on your phone. Assist Your Manual Trades takes it from there.
The MT5 mobile app lets you open and close positions, but it cannot run an Expert Advisor. The moment you tap Buy or Sell on your phone, that position has no take-profit logic, no trailing stop and no grid management, unless something else is watching it. Assist Your Manual Trades is that something else. Attach it once to a chart on your desktop terminal or a VPS, and every position you open, from your phone, a tablet or your desktop, is picked up automatically and managed the way you configured it.
This is a trade management utility. It does not generate entry signals, and it never opens the first trade of a cycle. Every cycle starts with an entry you make yourself.
What Makes It Different
- Built around phone entries, not around a desktop panel. You do not need to open an order panel or click anything on your desktop for a trade to be managed. Once the utility is attached to a chart, it detects new positions on its own, so a trade opened from the MT5 mobile app is handled without you being at your computer.
- Averaging support, not only single-position management. Many trade managers are built around one trade at a time: trailing stop, break-even, partial close. Assist Your Manual Trades also includes an Assist Averaging mode. After your first manual entry it manages the whole grid basket: it places the next grid layers according to your settings, recalculates the basket take profit as the basket grows, and keeps the take profit correct when you add more positions yourself.
- Two management styles in one utility. Use Assist OneShot for single positions with automatic TP/SL and trailing, or Assist Averaging when you prefer to scale into a position.
- Protection for mistakes made on a small screen. Smart Layer Refill reopens a grid layer you closed by accident, and an optional setting keeps extra manual positions out of your basket.
Two Assist Modes
Assist OneShot
For traders who take single, decisive positions.
- Automatic TP/SL applied as soon as your position appears, whether you opened it from mobile or desktop
- 4 trailing modes: Disabled, Classic (fixed step), Percent Lock (ratchets in your favor and never gives protection back), and Auto Breakeven (with an optional Lock setting that keeps enforcing breakeven even if you move the SL manually afterward)
- Tracks up to 100 positions at once, each managed independently
Assist Averaging (Grid/DCA)
For traders who scale into positions to average their entry price.
- Configurable grid step, lot multiplier and grid multiplier, with hard caps on maximum grid count and maximum lot size
- 5 take-profit calculation methods: Weighted Average, Dynamic Layer, By Dollar Target, By Percent of Balance/Equity, and Last High/Low Candle
- The same 4 trailing modes are available for your first entry, before the grid grows past a single position
- Basket Dollar Trailing for baskets with 2 or more positions: trail the floating profit of the whole basket by a fixed give-back or a percentage of the peak. It is fully virtual, so it stays light even on deep grids
- Add a manual position at any time and the take profit is recalculated automatically. Open another position in the same direction while a basket is active, and the utility folds it into the basket and recalculates TP for the new combined position using the method you selected
- One basket per direction. The utility manages a single BUY cycle and a single SELL cycle at a time. An additional manual entry in the same direction joins that direction's existing basket instead of starting a new one
- Grid layer sizing follows your deepest position, not necessarily your latest one. The next layer's lot size is based on the open position that is furthest in the red for that basket (the lowest-priced BUY or the highest-priced SELL), not simply the most recently opened position
- Optional: ignore extra manual positions. When enabled, additional manual positions opened in the same direction while a basket is active are left alone and are not added to the basket. They stay unmanaged, and the utility remembers them even if you remove it and attach it again
Smart Layer Refill
Closed a grid position by accident, most likely from your phone where it is easy to tap the wrong button? The utility knows the difference between closing your last grid layer and a middle one:
- Close the last layer: it is reopened automatically at the same price and lot size.
- Close a middle layer: it is not refilled, and the take profit is simply recalculated for the rest of the basket.
Built-in Risk Protection
- Auto Cut Loss by percentage of balance or a fixed dollar amount, applied to this pair or to your whole account
- Push notifications to your phone for TP hits, SL hits, cut-loss triggers, grid limits and lot caps. See the setup section below
- Economic news lines on your chart, filtered by the currencies you choose. Upcoming and past high, medium and low impact events are marked on the chart, with an optional push notification a set number of minutes before an event
- Native MT5 order, TP, SL and pending lines stay visible on the chart at all times
- Pip size is detected automatically, including XAUUSD on brokers that quote 2 or 3 decimal digits
Live Dashboard and One-Click Controls
An on-chart dashboard shows floating P/L, the current mode, the active TP method and the cut-loss status. One-click buttons, with confirmation prompts, let you close all buys, close all sells, or pause the utility. The "pause on clear" option keeps managing your open trades until they finish instead of abandoning them mid-cycle.
Setting Up Push Notifications (MQL ID)
Push notifications let the utility reach your phone the moment something happens. Here is how to connect it:
- On your phone, open the MetaTrader 5 mobile app and log in to your trading account.
- Go to Settings, then Messages (or the notifications/chat icon, depending on your app version).
- You will see a code labeled MetaQuotes ID. This is your MQL ID. Copy it.
- On the desktop terminal where the utility is running, go to Tools, then Options, then Notifications.
- Check "Enable Push Notifications", paste your MQL ID into the MetaQuotes ID field, and click Test. You should receive a test notification on your phone within a few seconds.
- In the utility's inputs, make sure "Master switch for all notifications" is set to true, along with the specific alerts you want.
Recommended Usage
- Test on a demo account first to get familiar with the trailing modes and TP methods before using real funds.
- Keep the terminal running while you have trades open, either on a VPS or on your desktop. The utility has to be running to manage trailing stops, grid layers and cut-loss, and it can only act on what it can see. If the terminal closes, management pauses until it is running again. A VPS keeps it active around the clock, which helps most if you open trades from your phone and are not always near your desktop. A VPS is not mandatory: a desktop works just as well as long as the terminal stays on and connected for as long as you want your trades managed.
- Size your lots deliberately, especially in Averaging mode. The lot multiplier compounds with each layer, so check your account's margin requirements against "Max Lot Size" and "Max Grid Count" before going live.
- Set up push notifications so you know what is happening even when you are away from the charts.
- Review the Auto Cut Loss settings before using Assist Averaging. It is your safety net if a basket moves further than expected.
What Not to Do
- Do not change Trading Mode while a position or cycle is still open. The utility keeps the previous mode active until things clear, but switching mid-cycle only adds confusion. Let the cycle finish first.
- Do not attach multiple copies to the same symbol with the same Magic Number. This can cause conflicting management of the same positions.
- Do not leave the terminal disconnected for extended periods while a grid or trailing cycle is active.
- Do not use aggressive grid or lot multiplier settings without checking your margin. Averaging can grow position size quickly if price keeps moving against you.
- On netting accounts, do not open a position in the opposite direction while a basket is active. Netting accounts merge same-symbol positions into one, so an opposite order reduces your existing position instead of creating a separate one.
- On netting accounts, the option to ignore extra manual positions cannot keep them separate. The broker merges same-direction orders into a single position, so that option works as intended on hedging accounts.
Assist Your Manual Trades is a trade management tool, not a guarantee of profit. Past performance and backtest results do not guarantee future results. Always trade with risk management appropriate to your account size.
