Master REG Channel for MetaTrader 5
Master REG Channel is a technical indicator for MetaTrader 5 based on linear regression, designed to assist in analyzing market direction, slope, price position, and movement behavior within a statistical channel.
The indicator calculates a central linear regression line and two outer bands based on price dispersion around the regression. This structure helps visualize the prevailing movement direction and the current price position within the channel.
Channel Structure
Master REG Channel displays three main lines:
Reg Mid
The central line based on linear regression of closing prices. Its slope represents the prevailing direction identified by the calculation.
Reg Upper
The upper channel band, calculated from the central line and price dispersion.
Reg Lower
The lower channel band, calculated from the central line and price dispersion.
The distance between the bands and the central line is determined by the statistical dispersion of prices and the InpDeviation parameter.
Regression Direction
The central line uses different colors to represent the direction identified by the regression slope.
A positive slope represents an upward structure.
A negative slope represents a downward structure.
The color change allows visual identification of changes in channel direction.
Master Score
The indicator includes an internal calculation called Master Score, displayed on a scale from -100 to +100.
The Score combines the regression slope direction with the current price position relative to the channel.
Positive values represent greater predominance of the upward condition.
Negative values represent greater predominance of the downward condition.
Values close to zero represent an intermediate condition.
When the price moves beyond the upper or lower band, the calculation can increase the Score intensity, indicating a more extended condition relative to the channel.
Master State
Master State mathematically classifies the current condition into three states:
1 represents a positive condition.
0 represents a neutral condition.
-1 represents a negative condition.
The classification uses +25 and -25 as reference levels of the Master Score.
Parameters
InpPeriod
Defines the number of periods used in the linear regression calculation.
Default value: 80.
Lower periods make the channel more sensitive to recent price changes.
Higher periods produce a smoother regression structure with less sensitivity to short-term fluctuations.
InpDeviation
Defines the multiplier used to determine the distance of the bands from the central line.
Default value: 2.0.
Higher values increase the channel width.
Lower values make the channel narrower.
Main Features
- Linear regression-based channel.
- Reg Mid central line.
- Reg Upper upper band.
- Reg Lower lower band.
- Visual direction identification through regression slope.
- Channel adapted to price dispersion.
- Master Score from -100 to +100.
- Master State with positive, neutral, or negative classification.
- Configurable period.
- Configurable deviation.
- Applicable to different symbols and timeframes available in MetaTrader 5.
- Compatible with the MetaTrader 5 Visual Tester.
- Does not open, modify, or close trades.
Usage
Master REG Channel can be used as a complementary tool for analyzing trends, movement direction, price channels, expansion and contraction of the structure, and price position relative to the regression.
The indicator can be applied to different symbols and timeframes available in MetaTrader 5.
Visual Tester Compatibility
The indicator includes specific protection for the MetaTrader 5 Visual Tester environment.
When running in the Strategy Tester, the historical Bid, Ask, and Last lines used by the testing environment are hidden to avoid visual interference with channel analysis.
This change is applied only in the Tester environment and does not modify the settings of normally used charts.
Important
Master REG Channel is a technical analysis and decision-support tool. The indicator does not predict future movements and does not guarantee financial results.
The information provided should be evaluated together with market context, the trading strategy being used, and the trader's risk management criteria.
