Overview

Candle Timer Countdown Pro for MT4 is a candlestick close countdown indicator for MetaTrader 4. It displays the time remaining until the current candle closes directly on the chart, paired with a circular progress arc so traders can understand the candle's current stage at a glance.

Unlike basic countdown indicators that refresh only when a new tick arrives, this indicator uses server-time anchoring with local-clock interpolation. The countdown stays stable even when ticks are sparse, reducing freezing, jumping, and time-drift issues.

Whether you trade short-term on an M1 chart or monitor trends and candle patterns on H1, H4, and D1 charts, knowing exactly when the current candle will close can help you time entries, confirm close-based patterns, and avoid making trading decisions too early.

Why This Timer Is Different

Many MT4 countdown indicators rely mainly on TimeCurrent() . In MetaTrader 4, server time is usually updated with market quotes. When market activity is low, quote intervals become longer, or the current symbol temporarily has no new ticks, ordinary countdown indicators can briefly freeze and then jump.

This indicator anchors server time when a new tick arrives and uses the local clock to interpolate time between ticks. The result is a smoother, more stable countdown display. Combined with the circular progress arc, it gives traders a clearer visual sense of the remaining time before the current candle closes.

Accurate Countdown

Displays the remaining time until the current candle closes. Server-time anchoring and local-time interpolation reduce freezing and jumping when no new ticks arrive.

Circular Progress Arc

Shows a real-time circular progress cue next to the countdown text.

The indicator can automatically switch colors based on whether the current candle is rising or falling, keeping the countdown visually aligned with your chart style.

Pre-Close Highlight Reminder

By default, the countdown enters a highlighted state before the candle closes. You can customize how many seconds before the close the highlight begins, or turn the feature off entirely.

Useful for:

  • Confirming candle patterns before the close

  • Waiting until the current candle has truly closed before making a decision

Connection Status Detection

The indicator evaluates the current status based on quote update time and displays different suffixes:

  • Active
  • Inactive
  • Disconnected

When the market is paused, a symbol has no quotes, or the connection is abnormal, the countdown status becomes clearer.
