VibeFox Chandelier — ATR trailing stop with flip signals
VibeFox Chandelier is a real-time Chandelier Exit overlay for MetaTrader 5. It draws a single adaptive stop line directly on the price chart, switches between Long and Short sides as price evolves, and fires a clearly marked BUY or SELL signal at the exact moment of every flip. All controls are gathered into one smooth interactive panel so you spend your attention on the market, not on the settings dialog.
What the Chandelier Exit is
The Chandelier Exit is an ATR-based trailing stop that hugs price from a safe distance and only ever moves in the direction of the trend. In an uptrend the stop sits below price: it equals the highest recent high (or close, if Use Close is on) minus a multiple of ATR. In a downtrend it sits above price: lowest recent low plus the same ATR multiple. Because the stop is anchored to ATR — the market's own measure of volatility — it automatically widens during turbulent sessions and tightens in calm ones, keeping you in the trend without being shaken out by normal noise.
The stop ratchets in one direction only. While price stays above the Long stop, the Long stop can only rise; it never retreats. While price stays below the Short stop, the Short stop can only fall. This one-way ratchet is what turns a simple volatility band into a trailing stop that locks in gains as the trend extends.
How the flip works (stop-and-reverse)
A flip occurs the moment a closing price crosses to the opposite side of the current stop. When a close drops below the Long stop, the indicator switches to the Short side — the line jumps above price and begins trailing down. When a close rises above the Short stop, the indicator switches back to the Long side. This stop-and-reverse logic means the Chandelier Exit is always active: it is either protecting a long position or protecting a short one, with no gaps in between.
Two parameters control how sensitive the stop is. ATR Period sets how many bars are used to compute volatility — a larger period smooths out spikes and makes the stop calmer. Multiplier sets the distance from price to the stop as a factor of ATR — a larger multiplier gives the trade more room, producing fewer flips; a smaller multiplier keeps the stop close, producing more flips. Finding the right balance for your instrument and timeframe is the primary tuning task.
Entry points — the flip is the signal
Every flip is a directional event: flip to Long side = BUY, flip to Short side = SELL. The indicator marks each flip with an optional arrow at the close of the signal bar, placed directly on the price chart. The flip captures the moment the prior trend was invalidated and a new one has begun. You can use it as a standalone reversal entry, as a trailing exit trigger for an existing trade, or as a filter that keeps you on the right side of the market.
The Exit Flip signal switch in the Entry Points group enables the notification system: when a flip is detected on the most recently closed bar, all enabled notification channels fire simultaneously.
Visual control
The stop line is drawn in two colors — one for the Long side and one for the Short side — so the current regime is obvious at a glance. Long Color and Short Color set those colors independently, each with its own Transparency slider (0 = fully opaque, 100 = invisible). Line Width sets the pixel thickness of the stop line from 1 to 10. The optional Flip arrows switch draws a small directional marker at every flip point; the arrow inherits the color of the new direction, pointing up for BUY and down for SELL.
Bars and Refresh
The computation window and the auto-refresh interval are live panel controls, adjustable without reopening the inputs dialog. Bars sets how many historical bars are computed and drawn — a wider window gives a longer history but takes more resources. Refresh sets the auto-refresh interval in seconds; the indicator always recalculates on each new closed bar, and Refresh provides an additional fallback update on an independent timer.
Interactive on-chart panel
The entire interface is a canvas-based panel designed for fast mouse operation. Parameters are arranged in compact rows and the panel floats freely on the chart. The header bar holds the control icons.
Power — enables and disables line drawing and signals without removing the indicator from the chart.
Settings (gear icon) — opens and closes the settings panel.
Updown (arrows) — moves the panel between the subwindow and the main chart.
Close (cross) — removes the indicator from the chart.
Resizable — drag the bottom-right corner to scale the panel to your preferred size.
Collapsible — double-click the header to collapse the panel to a compact strip.
Mouse wheel — hover over any numeric field and scroll to change its value without opening the keyboard.
Settings and personalization
The Settings button opens the section where the panel is tailored to your workspace: light, dark, or automatic Theme (follows the chart background), adjustable panel width, header size, row height and font size. Additional options let you hide the footer strip via Hide Footer, show a compact header when collapsed via Mini Header, and auto-collapse the panel when you click outside it. Nearly every parameter is live-editable on the panel — the Inputs tab only sets the starting values when the indicator is first loaded. You can also run several independent copies on the same chart by giving each a unique Instance number, allowing you to compare different ATR periods or multipliers side by side.
Notifications
You do not need to watch the chart waiting for a flip. Every signal can be delivered through multiple independent notification channels, toggled directly in the panel.
Alert — a pop-up message inside the MetaTrader terminal.
Push — a mobile push notification to the MetaTrader app on your phone.
Email — a message sent through the e-mail settings configured in the terminal.
Telegram — the alert text together with a chart screenshot, sent straight to your Telegram chat.
Enable only the channels you need and you will receive the notification the moment a new flip appears on the symbol and timeframe you are monitoring.
Visual history — Html report
Enable the Html channel and every flip signal is saved to an HTML report together with a chart screenshot captured at the moment of the flip. The report is stored in the terminal's Files folder, in the VibeFox_Chandelier subdirectory, under the name result.html, and opens in any browser — giving you a visual log of every entry the indicator has produced. A trash button in the report clears all entries and their screenshots in one click whenever you want to start a fresh history.
Telegram Alerts
Signals can also be delivered straight to your Telegram chat — the alert text together with a screenshot of the chart at the moment of detection. Turn on the Telegram channel and enter your bot token and chat id in the inputs.
Delivery rides on the HTML report: each new signal is written into the report, and the report — opened in a browser — forwards it to your Telegram chat on its own. For this reason, enabling Telegram automatically keeps the Html report on, and the two channels work together.
Built-in multilingual help
A complete help page is built into the panel and available in 10 languages, so every control is explained right where you use it.
Parameters (Inputs tab)
Most settings can also be changed live on the panel (Settings button) — the input parameters only set the initial values on load.
