Overview
Kensei EA is an advanced automated trading system built on Smart Money and Conceptual Retail Trading principles. The Expert Advisor identifies high-probability trade setups by analyzing market structure, liquidity sweeps, and institutional order flow patterns, giving retail traders access to the same logic used by professional market participants.
Trading Methodology
The EA implements three proven Smart Money strategies, each designed to enter positions with favorable risk-reward ratios by following institutional behavior rather than trading against it.
Opening Range Breakout
The system establishes a defined price range during the configurable opening period of your trading session. When price breaks out of this range and successfully retests it with a rejection candle, the EA enters in the direction of the breakout. This setup is designed to capture institutional order flow that emerges following the initial establishment of market sentiment at session open.
Liquidity Sweep
The EA continuously scans the 1-hour timeframe for equal highs and equal lows, which represent areas of resting liquidity. When price sweeps above equal highs or below equal lows and then reverses with a strong rejection, the system recognizes this as an institutional liquidity grab and enters against the sweep direction. This exploits the well-documented pattern where large players trigger retail stop losses before reversing price in their intended direction.
Fair Value Gap Fill
The system identifies price imbalances on the 4-hour timeframe where gaps exist between consecutive candles, indicating areas the market left behind during aggressive moves. When price returns to fill these inefficiencies and shows rejection, the EA enters a position in anticipation of the market continuing in its original direction once the imbalance is corrected.
Risk Management
Risk is calculated as a configurable percentage of account balance per trade, with adjustable stop loss distances to suit different instruments and market conditions. A maximum daily loss limit is enforced to prevent excessive drawdown during unfavorable periods, and position sizing accounts for both risk parameters and available margin to prevent over-leveraging — particularly important when trading high-margin instruments such as gold.
Partial profit taking is handled through a two-tier system. When the first target is reached, a configurable percentage of the position is closed and the stop loss is moved to breakeven plus a defined buffer. The remaining portion of the position continues running toward the second target or is managed with optional trailing stop functionality.
Session and Filter Controls
Trading activity can be restricted to specific hours and days of the week to avoid low-liquidity periods and unfavorable market conditions. An integrated news filter blocks new trade entries before and after high-impact economic releases using the MetaTrader economic calendar, with separate buffer time controls for both pre- and post-event windows. An optional trend alignment filter requires all trade entries to align with higher timeframe market structure, determined through swing high and swing low analysis, helping to avoid counter-trend positions during strong directional moves.
Dashboard
An interactive on-chart panel provides real-time monitoring of account balance and equity, current session status, daily and session profit and loss with percentage figures, number of trades taken today, trend bias with strength indicator, individual setup status with detailed information, news filter status with a countdown to the next scheduled event, and open position details including live profit. The dashboard is fully customizable in terms of both screen position and color scheme.
Configuration
Risk management settings cover risk per trade as a percentage of balance, maximum daily loss limit, maximum concurrent positions, and default stop loss distance in pips with automatic adjustment for broker minimum stop requirements. Session scheduling allows trading hours to be defined in GMT with day-of-week selection and an option to automatically close all positions at session end. Each of the three trading setups can be enabled or independently disabled, with individual controls for opening range period, equal level tolerance, fair value gap maximum age, and minimum risk-reward ratio. Trade management settings include the percentage of the position to close at each target, breakeven buffer distance, and optional trailing stop configuration. News filter controls offer separate settings for high and medium impact events with buffer windows before and after releases. Trend alignment includes a configurable swing detection lookback period and minimum trend strength threshold.
Requirements
Platform: MetaTrader 5. The EA operates on any symbol and timeframe but executes its core logic on 15-minute bars, with primary analysis performed on the 1-hour and 4-hour timeframes and the daily timeframe used for trend bias. Recommended instruments include major forex pairs and gold. Both instant execution and exchange execution modes are supported. Minimum stop levels are automatically detected and respected for each symbol. A VPS is recommended for uninterrupted operation.
Important Notice
Kensei EA automates a discretionary trading methodology grounded in logical market structure principles rather than curve-fitted indicators or over-optimized parameters. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Always test thoroughly on a demo account before live deployment and apply appropriate risk management at all times. The EA performs best on instruments with clear trending behavior and adequate liquidity. No trading system wins on every trade — consistent results depend on sound risk management and allowing the statistical edge to play out across a sufficient number of trades.

GREAT EA!!
