JB Market Structure — Kernel Regression Channels & Dynamic Support/Resistance
What it does:
Applies Rational Quadratic Kernel Regression to HLC3 price data to produce a smooth, adaptive baseline that tracks market structure. Dynamic volatility channels (hybrid ATR + mean deviation) wrap around the baseline, defining inner/outer bands and extended warning/block zones where reversals are most probable.
Why use this instead of standard Support/Resistance or Moving Averages:
Traditional MAs lag and produce noisy signals. Static S/R lines require manual drawing and constant adjustment. This indicator combines kernel regression smoothness with adaptive volatility bands, giving you a complete structure map that adjusts automatically to any market condition — trending or ranging — without repainting on closed bars.
Features:
- Rational Quadratic Kernel Regression baseline (adaptive, smooth, non-lagging)
- Inner and Outer volatility channels (hybrid ATR + mean deviation)
- Warning lines (2/3 of channel) and Block lines (3/4) for precise zone identification
- Automatic Buy/Sell arrows on outer band crossovers
- Color-coded trend direction (green = bullish, red = bearish)
- Works on any symbol and any timeframe
- All buffers accessible for Expert Advisors (EA-ready via iCustom)
Buffers (for EA integration):
- Buffer 0: Baseline value (kernel regression on HLC3)
- Buffer 1: Baseline color index (0 = up/green, 1 = down/red)
- Buffer 2: Upper Inner channel
- Buffer 3: Lower Inner channel
- Buffer 4: Upper Outer channel
- Buffer 5: Lower Outer channel
- Buffer 6: Buy arrow value
- Buffer 7: Sell arrow value
- Buffer 8: Warning Upper line (2/3)
- Buffer 9: Warning Lower line (2/3)
- Buffer 10: Block Upper line (3/4)
- Buffer 11: Block Lower line (3/4)
- Buffer 12: ATR values (calculation)
- Buffer 13: Hybrid volatility (calculation)
- Buffer 14: HLC3 source (calculation)
- Buffer 15: Mean deviation (calculation)
Inputs:
- Lookback Window (24): kernel regression period — higher = smoother baseline
- Bandwidth (8.0): kernel smoothness parameter — higher = less reactive
- Alpha (2.0): kernel shape parameter
- Inner Channel Multiplier (1.5): width of inner bands
- Outer Channel Multiplier (2.5): width of outer bands — signals trigger here
- ATR Period (24): volatility measurement lookback
- Show Signals: enable/disable Buy/Sell arrows
- Single Signal Mode: one arrow per direction change (filters noise)
- Warning line ratio (0.667): 2/3 of outer channel — caution zone
- Block line ratio (0.75): 3/4 of outer channel — high-probability reversal
- Show/Hide: baseline, inner channel, outer channel independently
