A long-only momentum system for the NASDAQ 100 on H1, with an H4 filter: +40% in more than four years of backtest at 1% risk per trade, with a 5.88% maximum drawdown.
Corvane Nasdaq Momentum is a fully automated Expert Advisor for the NASDAQ 100 index (NAS100 / US100 / USTEC). It trades long only on H1, holds a single position at a time, and protects every trade with a real, server-side Stop Loss and Take Profit plus an automatic move to breakeven once the trade has travelled far enough in profit.
This strategy is also one of the four inside Corvane Momentum Portfolio, which runs GBPJPY, USDJPY, NASDAQ 100 and US30 from one chart. All Corvane EAs are listed in my MQL5 profile.
The rules are strict by design: no martingale, no grid, no averaging down. Every trade is protected by a real Stop Loss and Take Profit placed on the broker's server — never hidden — and the EA holds one position at a time, with no stacking. Open positions are closed on Friday evening, so there is no weekend gap exposure. It runs on both Hedging and Netting accounts.
The strategy
Corvane Nasdaq Momentum is a momentum system built on price action and standard technical indicators — no black box, no "AI" claims. It buys when the market shows upward momentum on H1 and the H4 filter agrees, and stays out when the conditions are not met. New entries are only taken between 02:00 and 22:00 server time. Every position starts with an ATR-based Stop Loss and Take Profit, and the automatic breakeven adjustment protects the trade as it moves in your favour.
The system is selective: it can stay flat for days. That inactivity is part of the design — every trade it skips in a hostile market is drawdown you do not take.

Money Management
- Risk mode per trade — percent of equity, so the risk follows the account as it grows or draws down, or a fixed amount of money per trade.
- Risk per trade (% of equity, 1-2 typical) — 1% by default, the configuration of the backtest.
- Max lot cap (safety ceiling) — a hard limit on position size, whatever the balance.
- Max trades per day (0 = unlimited) — optional daily limit.
- Magic number (change if multi-bot on same account) — each Corvane EA ships with its own, so they can run together on one account.
Installation and use
- Attach the EA to a NASDAQ 100 chart, H1 timeframe. Your broker may call it NAS100, US100 or USTEC — any of them works.
- In MONEY MANAGEMENT, choose percent of equity (1% by default) or fixed money.
- Enable AutoTrading. That's it: the EA does the rest.
Recommendations
- ECN / raw-spread account with low spreads on NASDAQ 100.
- Leverage 1:100 or higher, and a VPS for 24/5 operation.
- Recommended minimum deposit: $1,000 (the EA scales the lot size to your balance).
- Test first on a demo account to confirm the symbol name and the behavior with your broker.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
The EA has not opened a trade for several days. Is something wrong?
Most likely not. Corvane Nasdaq Momentum is selective by design. Check that AutoTrading is enabled and the chart is NASDAQ 100 H1; if so, the EA is simply waiting for its conditions.
Does it use martingale, grid or averaging?
No. One position at a time, fixed risk per trade, real Stop Loss and Take Profit on every position.
Which symbol should I attach it to?
Your broker's NASDAQ 100 CFD (NAS100, US100, USTEC or similar), on H1. The EA reads its market and timeframe from the chart, so it is designed for this symbol and timeframe only.
Does it keep positions over the weekend?
No. Open positions are closed on Friday evening.
Can I run it together with other EAs on the same account?
Yes. It uses its own magic number and only manages its own trades. If you run two copies of it, give each one a different Magic number (change if multi-bot on same account).
Do I need a VPS?
Recommended. The EA manages positions with server-side SL/TP, so a short disconnection is not catastrophic, but a VPS guarantees it never misses an entry or the automatic breakeven adjustment.
