Overview
Hedge Gold Smart Arman is an automated hedging Expert Advisor developed for MetaTrader 4 (MT4). It combines technical indicators, volatility analysis, and automated trade management to identify potentially suitable market conditions for its hedging strategy.
The EA is designed to evaluate periods of contracting volatility and changing market conditions rather than entering trades without considering the surrounding market environment.
Its strategy uses Bollinger Bands, Average True Range (ATR), and the Average Directional Index (ADX) to assess market conditions and determine when its entry criteria are satisfied.
The objective is to help reduce unsuitable entries through indicator-based filtering and systematic trade management. However, no indicator or automated trading system can eliminate incorrect entries or guarantee profitable results.
How Does the Strategy Work?
1. Bollinger Bands — Market Structure and Volatility Contraction
The EA analyzes Bollinger Bands using a 20-period setting and a standard deviation of 2.
It monitors changes in the distance between the upper and lower bands and evaluates price position relative to the upper band, middle band, and lower band.
These measurements help the EA identify contracting band conditions and evaluate whether the price behavior meets its entry requirements.
2. ATR — Adaptive Distance and Profit Targets
The Average True Range (ATR), using a 14-period setting, measures recent market volatility.
The EA uses ATR-derived values to calculate certain trading distances and profit targets. This allows parts of its trade management to respond to changing market volatility rather than relying entirely on fixed distances.
Actual trading distances depend on the EA's internal calculations, current market conditions, and applicable settings.
3. ADX — Market Strength Assessment
The Average Directional Index (ADX), using a 14-period setting, is evaluated alongside ATR and Bollinger Bands.
The EA compares recent indicator readings to identify conditions that satisfy its internal market filters. The combined conditions are intended to help avoid entering trades when the indicator pattern does not meet the strategy's requirements.
Important: These indicators evaluate historical and current market data. They do not predict unexpected future events or guarantee that the market will remain within a range.
Automated Hedging and Trade Management
When the EA's entry conditions are satisfied, it can initiate buy and sell positions as part of its hedging strategy.
Its trade management includes:
-
Automated buy and sell order management.
-
Additional entries under the strategy's specified conditions.
-
Lot-size management and configurable lot limits.
-
ATR-based spacing for qualifying additional entries.
-
Profit-based management of individual positions and groups of positions.
-
Automated closing of selected positions or groups when the EA's internal conditions are met.
Hedging does not eliminate risk. Maintaining buy and sell positions simultaneously may involve spreads, commissions, swaps, margin requirements, and floating losses.
Risk and Trading Controls
The EA includes several configurable parameters designed to help users adapt its operation to their trading environment.
Lot sizing: Choose a fixed initial lot size or enable the EA's automatic lot-sizing calculation.
Maximum spread: Set a spread threshold for new entries. The EA can continue managing existing positions when the spread exceeds the configured threshold.
Trading schedule: Configure the permitted trading start and end times.
Maximum open positions: Set a limit for the number of positions managed by the EA.
Maximum lot size: Configure a maximum lot threshold for the strategy's position sizing.
Magic Number: Identify the EA's trades separately from other trading activity.
The EA also displays account balance, equity, floating profit or loss, historical profit statistics, current spread, trading symbol, and chart timeframe on its dashboard.
These controls support trade management but do not constitute a guarantee of capital protection. Actual execution also depends on broker conditions and available account margin.
Designed for Changing Market Conditions
Hedge Gold Smart Arman is designed to evaluate market conditions using technical indicators instead of entering trades without filtering.
Its approach is based on the principle that volatility changes over time. ATR provides a measure of recent price movement, Bollinger Bands provide information about price distribution and band width, and ADX contributes an assessment of directional strength.
Combining these measurements may help the strategy avoid some unsuitable entries. Nevertheless, volatility can expand rapidly, and a market that appears calm can develop into a strong directional movement.
The EA must therefore be tested under different market conditions, including trending markets, ranging markets, and periods of elevated volatility.
Important Limitation: News and Unexpected Market Events
Hedge Gold Smart Arman is a technical-indicator-based trading system. It does not possess the ability to predict the future, know the content of unreleased economic announcements, or foresee unexpected political statements and geopolitical events.
Major economic news, central-bank announcements, political developments, geopolitical conflicts, sudden liquidity changes, and other unexpected events can cause rapid price movements.
Such movements may invalidate the conditions identified by the indicators and can lead to substantial floating losses, margin pressure, or account drawdown.
The EA is not a news-prediction system and should not be considered a guarantee against sudden market movements.
Users should assess their risk tolerance, monitor market conditions, and test the EA carefully before deploying it on a live account.
Development Roadmap
The input parameter Close_At_Next is present in the current source code. However, its associated execution logic is currently inactive.
This option should not be considered an operational feature of the current version. Its intended functionality may be implemented or revised in a future update, subject to development and testing.
The current EA should be evaluated according to the features implemented in the version being purchased, not according to potential future functionality.

Risk Disclosure
Trading Forex, gold, and other leveraged financial instruments involves a substantial risk of loss. Hedging strategies can accumulate multiple positions and significant floating losses when the market moves strongly in one direction.
Although Hedge Gold Smart Arman is designed to use technical indicators to filter market conditions and manage trades systematically, it cannot guarantee profits, prevent losses, or eliminate the risk of account drawdown or stop-out.
Past performance and backtest results, if available, do not guarantee future performance. Users are responsible for evaluating the strategy, selecting appropriate settings, and monitoring their accounts.
Use this Expert Advisor only if you understand the risks associated with automated hedging and leveraged trading.
