Dennis GoldRush is, without a doubt, our best creation to date: a trend-following breakout expert advisor for gold (XAUUSD) on the 1-hour timeframe, designed to capture the immediate momentum following a confirmed breakout, long only.
How it works:
The system first requires a bullish context: the closing price must be above a long-term exponential moving average (200 periods by default). Only with that context in place does the EA identify the recent high (over the last 20 candles by default) and place a single pending buy order right at that level — it does not try to predict the market, it waits for price itself to prove strength by breaking that high. If price does not reach the order within a configurable window (8 hours by default), it cancels itself. The stop loss is not a fixed distance: it is calculated from the market's actual current volatility (ATR), so it adapts on its own to how agitated conditions are. There is no fixed profit target - the position closes automatically after a configurable number of hours (12 by default), aiming to capture the breakout's immediate momentum rather than trying to ride a long trend.
Risk management:
Risk per trade is set as a percentage of current equity (RiskPercent), not a fixed amount - position size adjusts automatically as your account balance changes. If not even the broker's minimum lot respects the target risk, the trade is skipped rather than over-risking.
Configurable parameters:
- Trend moving average period and signal timeframe
- Number of candles used to compute the breakout level, and how many hours the pending order stays valid before cancelling itself
- ATR period and multiplier used for the stop loss
- Hours each position stays open before the automatic time-based close
- Risk per trade (% of equity) and the maximum allowed risk-overshoot factor
This product trades with a single pending order at a time (no pyramiding), only opens long positions, and is specifically designed for XAUUSD on the H1 timeframe.
