CoinSmith
CoinSmith is an automated trading EA whose main advantage is not aggressive profit, but calm, thoughtful, and more stable long-term operation. It is designed to trade with discipline and follow a defined system rather than chaotically chase quick profits.
CoinSmith uses a structured grid approach with an automatically adjusted step based on market volatility, mode switching, and total basket profit control.
CoinSmith is best suited for major currency pairs such as EURUSD, GBPUSD, and other similarly liquid Forex pairs. Before using it on other symbols, it is recommended to perform detailed tests in the MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester.
Why CoinSmith earns more slowly, but better
CoinSmith is not designed as a “quick money” robot. That is an advantage, not a disadvantage.
EAs that earn very quickly usually do so by taking higher risks. This often means more aggressive market entries, greater pressure on the deposit, and a much higher chance of encountering serious problems when the market moves in one direction for an extended period. These are exactly the moments when fast-earning robots often reveal their weaknesses.
CoinSmith takes a different approach — it works more patiently and carefully. Profit may therefore accumulate more slowly, but the overall operation is more reasonable and stable. In the long run, this is usually much more valuable than impressive short-term results.
CoinSmith does not earn every day
It is important to understand that CoinSmith is not a robot that will produce the same result every day. There are days when the market offers very few opportunities, and there are days when CoinSmith works much more productively.
This is normal. Market conditions are not the same every day, and CoinSmith adapts to market movements instead of artificially opening trades merely so that “something happens.”
At the code level, CoinSmith works with price levels and an automatically adjusted grid step. Its trading activity therefore depends directly on the nature and volatility of the market.
Profit is usually lower during summer
During the summer period, the market is often calmer, price movements are slower, and trends may be less pronounced. As a result, CoinSmith will usually be less active during this period, and profit may be more modest.
This does not mean that something is wrong with the EA. On the contrary, it means that CoinSmith is responding to actual market conditions and is not forcing trades when suitable opportunities are limited.
Do not interfere with CoinSmith’s operation
It is not recommended to interfere manually with CoinSmith:
- do not modify orders opened or placed by the EA;
- do not close market orders manually before the cycle is completed;
- do not manually delete its pending orders;
- do not try to “help” the EA make trading decisions.
CoinSmith is built as a complete system in which every next step is connected to the previous one. If the user starts manually closing or modifying orders in the middle of an active cycle, the structure according to which the EA operates may be disrupted.
At the code level, CoinSmith maintains its own sequence of pending orders, controls grid levels, prevents duplicate orders, and manages the total profit of the entire order basket.
CoinSmith is not based on Stochastic
CoinSmith is not based on the Stochastic indicator. It does not rely on classic indicator signals in the same way as many other trading robots.
Instead, CoinSmith uses a different approach — it structures the market through price levels, grid logic, and an automatically adjusted step based on market volatility.
Simply put, CoinSmith approaches the market in a technical and systematic way rather than relying on a single overbought or oversold indicator.
CoinSmith is not Martingale
An important point — CoinSmith is not a Martingale system.
It does not increase the lot size after a loss in an attempt to recover the previous result. This is an important difference because Martingale systems can appear impressive until the market begins moving strongly in one direction for an extended period. At that point, their risk can increase very quickly.
CoinSmith is based on structured grid order placement and controlled lot calculation according to the account balance. The EA does not use the classic Martingale principle of increasing the lot size after losing trades.
The lot size is determined by predefined input parameters. In manual mode, a fixed lot size is used. In automatic mode, the lot size increases gradually according to the account balance.
For example:
- 0.01 lot at a balance of 300–599;
- 0.02 lot at a balance of 600–899;
- 0.03 lot at a balance of 900–1199;
- and so on.
The total profit target in account currency is adjusted according to the selected lot step. This allows the system to maintain a proportional relationship between the lot size and the basket profit target.
Minimum deposit
For CoinSmith, the minimum recommended deposit when using 0.01 lot is:
300 USD — as the absolute minimum.
However, a safer and more comfortable recommended starting deposit is:
500 USD.
The larger the deposit, the greater the reserve available to the EA during market fluctuations. A simple principle applies:
It is always better for the deposit to be larger rather than smaller.
About increasing the lot size
It is not recommended to increase the lot size if the deposit does not meet the minimum requirements — even if everything appears to be working well at that moment.
A larger lot may seem attractive during calm market conditions, but problems can arise when the market begins a stronger and longer movement in one direction. That is when a lot size that is too large for the available deposit can create excessive pressure on the account.
With CoinSmith, the smarter approach is not to chase artificially higher profits, but to provide the EA with a sufficient deposit reserve so that it can operate properly.
CoinSmith earns for you
The main idea is simple — CoinSmith is the one that trades and earns for you.
Your role is not to sit in front of the screen and try to control every market movement. Your role is to provide the EA with suitable operating conditions:
- an appropriate deposit;
- the correct fixed lot size or Auto Lot setting;
- patience;
- no manual interference with its orders;
- uninterrupted operation, preferably using a VPS service.
Under these conditions, CoinSmith can demonstrate what it was designed for — calm, technical, and stable automated trading on the MetaTrader 4 platform.
CoinSmith Input ParametersBelow are the main input parameters that the user can change.
Manual lot = 0.01
This is the initial lot size used by CoinSmith when Auto Lot is disabled.
The standard recommendation is to leave this value at 0.01 lot when using the minimum recommended deposit of at least 300 USD.
This parameter should not be increased merely because market conditions appear calm for a certain period. A larger lot without a suitable deposit can create unnecessary risk.
Auto lot by account balance
This parameter enables or disables the automatic lot calculation based on the account balance.
Example:
- 300–599 = 0.01 lot;
- 600–899 = 0.02 lot;
- 900–1199 = 0.03 lot;
- 1200–1499 = 0.04 lot;
- and so on.
When this option is enabled, CoinSmith automatically calculates the appropriate lot size according to the current account balance and the configured balance step.
EA will not trade below this balance
This parameter defines the minimum account balance from which the EA is allowed to trade.
For example, if the value is set to 300, CoinSmith will not open or place new orders when the account balance is below 300 account currency units.
If the balance is below the specified value, the EA will stop initiating new trading cycles and display a red warning on the MetaTrader 4 chart.
Every 300 account currency units adds one lot step +0.01
This parameter defines the account balance step used for the automatic lot calculation.
With the default settings, every additional 300 account currency units increases the lot size by one step.
For example:
- balance 300–599 → 0.01 lot;
- balance 600–899 → 0.02 lot;
- balance 900–1199 → 0.03 lot.
Lot increase amount for each balance step
This parameter defines how much the lot size increases after each completed balance step.
With the default value, every additional 300 account currency units increases the calculated lot size by 0.01 lot.
Max Auto Lot Safety cap for auto lot, 0 = no cap
This parameter defines the maximum lot size that can be calculated by the Auto Lot system.
It acts as an additional safety limit. Even if the account balance would allow a larger lot size, CoinSmith will not exceed the specified maximum.
If this parameter is set to 0, no maximum Auto Lot limit is applied.
Max pending orders in grid
This parameter defines the maximum number of pending orders that CoinSmith is allowed to maintain in its grid.
In simple terms, it determines how many price levels the EA may use in its active order structure.
The exact number of simultaneously active orders may also depend on market conditions, broker restrictions, and the EA’s internal order-management logic.
Money TP — account currency = 1.0
This is one of the most important parameters.
It defines the total profit target for the entire CoinSmith order basket in the account’s deposit currency.
For example, if this parameter is set to 1.0 and the combined result of all open market orders managed by CoinSmith reaches +1.0 USD — or +1.0 in another currency used by the trading account — CoinSmith closes its open market orders, deletes the related pending orders, and considers the current trading cycle completed.
If the fixed lot size is changed, the Money TP value should also be changed proportionally, unless Auto lot by account balance is enabled and the EA adjusts the profit target automatically.
Example:
- Lot 0.01 → Money TP 1.0;
- Lot 0.02 → Money TP 2.0;
- Lot 0.03 → Money TP 3.0.
This maintains the intended proportional relationship between the lot size and the total profit target for the entire order basket.
