Overview
GridBatchEA is a highly automated, martingale-style grid and basket Expert Advisor built for MetaTrader 5. Rather than opening all grid levels at once, it utilizes a "cascading batch" system, deploying pending Stop orders in groups to manage server load and execution risk. It is capped off by a global profit-taking mechanism and features a built-in probabilistic chart pattern scanner to time its cycle entries.

Core Trading Logic
- Cascading Batch Deployment: The EA divides its 40-level grid into batches of 5. It deploys the first 5 levels (e.g., Buy Stops and Sell Stops) and waits. It will only deploy the next batch (Levels 6–10) once every order in the current batch has been triggered and converted into a live position.
- Dual-Directional Grid: By default, the EA deploys ladders on both the Buy and Sell sides simultaneously, straddling the current market price.
- Global Basket Take Profit: There are no individual Take Profit levels for each trade. Instead, the EA monitors the combined floating P/L of all open positions across both the Buy and Sell sides. Once this net total reaches the defined BasketTakeProfit (in account currency), the EA executes a hard reset—closing all live positions, deleting all pending orders, and preparing for a fresh cycle.
The Chart Pattern Trigger (New Cycle Gating)
Unlike traditional grid EAs that blindly re-enter the market the second they close a basket, this EA features an optional EnablePatternStrategy . When toggled on, it actively scans the market for 10 classic chart patterns before starting a new cycle:
- Double Top / Double Bottom
- Head & Shoulders / Inverse Head & Shoulders
- Triple Top / Triple Bottom
- Ascending / Descending Triangles
- Rising / Falling Wedges
How it works: It uses an ATR-based tolerance ( ToleranceATRMult ) and multi-bar swing pivots ( SwingDepth ) to filter out false positives. The moment a pattern confirms via a breakout (e.g., closing below a neckline), the EA instantly anchors to the current price and deploys Batch 1 on both sides. The pattern dictates the timing of the entry, not the direction of the grid.
UI & Dashboard
The EA includes a sophisticated, draggable on-chart interface that does not interfere with manual chart analysis.
- 10 Color Themes: It features 5 dark modes and 5 light modes, which automatically adjust the MT5 chart background, foreground, and candlestick colors to match.
- Live Statistics: The panel tracks active filled positions, pending orders, side-specific P/L, total net P/L, current batch progression (Normal vs. Auto-Extension phases), and the most recently detected chart pattern.
Risk & Configuration Profile
- Hard Stop Loss: This is a martingale grid system. There is per-trade stop loss protecting individual orders. The lot sizing scales up heavily (from 0.01 up to 2.56 at higher levels). Prolonged, aggressive trends without retracements will cause severe drawdown.
- Direct Price Unit Spacing: The GridDistance input is added directly to the asset's price, rather than using MT5 "points". For high-volatility commodities like XAUUSD, a value like 1.0 adds exactly $1.00 of distance between levels. For 5-digit Forex pairs, it requires fractional inputs (e.g., 0.0050 ).
- Auto-Extension: Levels 21–40 act as an "Auto-Extension" safety net. They function identically to the first 20 levels but allow the EA to continue tracking massive runaway trends if the initial grid is fully exhausted.
