Prop Firm Challenge Tracker

Prop Firm Challenge Tracker

Prop Firm Challenge Tracker is a utility that applies prop firm evaluation rules to your own MetaTrader 5 account. It tracks your profit target, daily drawdown, and overall drawdown in real time, and shows the current status directly on the chart. It is intended for traders who want to practice the discipline required by a funded account evaluation before paying for a real challenge attempt.

The tool does not place, modify, or generate any trades on its own. It only observes the trading activity already happening on the account (manual trades or trades from another Expert Advisor) and applies the rules you configure. It works across all symbols traded on the account, not just the chart it is attached to.

How it works

Attach the tool to any chart. It records the account balance at that moment as the starting point for the evaluation. From there it continuously compares current equity and balance against the limits you set. If a daily drawdown or overall drawdown limit is breached, it can close open positions and block new ones from that point forward. If the profit target is reached, it reports that the evaluation would be considered passed.

The evaluation state (balance, daily loss, drawdown, pass/fail status, number of trading days) is saved and reloaded automatically, so restarting MetaTrader 5 or changing the chart timeframe does not reset progress.

Challenge Rules

  • Initial balance: uses the account balance at startup, or a fixed value you specify.
  • Profit target percent: the overall gain required to consider the evaluation passed.
  • Daily drawdown percent: the maximum loss allowed within a single day before the evaluation fails.
  • Maximum drawdown percent: the maximum loss allowed over the full evaluation before it fails.
  • Drawdown type: measured from the fixed initial balance, or as a trailing value based on the highest equity reached.
  • Minimum trading days: an optional requirement for a minimum number of days with at least one closed trade before the profit target can count as passed.

Consistency Rule

An optional rule that checks whether a single day's profit makes up too large a share of the total profit. This mirrors the consistency requirements used by several funding programs, which typically do not allow the evaluation to be passed on the strength of one outsized day.

Breach Behavior

  • Close all open positions automatically when a rule is breached.
  • Block and automatically close any new position opened after a breach.
  • Optionally stop trading once the profit target is reached.

Notifications

Status changes (daily reset, closed trades, rule breaches, profit target reached) can be reported through on-screen alerts, the Experts log, and MetaTrader push notifications to your phone, in any combination.

On-Chart Panel

A panel shows the current status, profit progress, daily loss, and drawdown, each with a colored progress bar. It can be positioned in any of the four chart corners and moved without recompiling the program.

Trade Journal

Every closed trade is logged to a CSV file (date, symbol, direction, volume, prices, profit, resulting balance and equity, and evaluation status at that moment), so the history can be reviewed later or imported into a spreadsheet.

Notes

This tool does not guarantee that any particular prop firm evaluation will be passed. Rules vary between firms, and this tool lets you configure your own values to approximate them; always check the exact rules of the program you intend to use before relying on this tool as a substitute. The tool does not connect to any external service and does not transmit account data anywhere outside the trading terminal.
